"I arrived at 6:30pm on day of arrival, key code did not work. Owner on phone said he needed to send someone to the house - no time estimate was given. I told him I was going to dinner and for him to call me when I could get in.At 9pm, I had not heard anything (no call, no text,no email)."

"Every step of the way from initial inquiries to farewell messages was a delight. Questions were kindly and promptly answered, and that gave us a lot of peace of mind about our stay even before we arrived.The Ice Cream cottage was everything we could have hoped for and more. All the little things that make traveling a breeze are here: plenty of (shaded!) parking, easy access, great air conditioning (we visited in the summer), wonderful wifi, impeccable cleanliness, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and luxurious towels.For a "small" cottage, the layout is perfect for families. There are plenty of comfortable places for everyone to relax together or alone.We were looking for a place where our dogs would be welcome and have space to play. The Ice Cream cottage is a dream come true! The huge fenced-in yard was dog heaven and a delight for the humans, too--not a sign of a pesky gnat or mosquito! Over three days and many hours outside with the dogs, we never found a single tick. The covered porch was perfect for relaxing meals as the dogs safely explored the yard.New Canaan has plenty of options for delicious food, and while we did get takeaway one night, we prepared our own food the rest of the time. There are great market choices from large chains to an excellent local grocery store. We needed an urgent pharmacy visit at 3:00 a.m. during our visit, and there is a 24-hour CVS only 20 minutes away.We're looking forward to visiting again!"

"Good location, close to Norwalk but in a very quiet and peaceful area. Even with ongoing renovation, we had a great stay and enjoyed the pool and breakfast (not-included). This doesn't affect review and it was situational but the fire alarm was triggered while we were at the pool (6pm) but everything was back to normal in 10 minutes."

"We're repeat guests and my only complaint is about the laundry facilities. It requires $5 in quarters to wash and dry a load, so if you don't have cash, you have to walk down to the corner store, get cash from the ATM there, come back to the front desk and have them change it into quarters. Theres no way to have laundry fees billed to your room or use a credit card. Who actually carries cash these days, especially 20 large coins?? Other than that (and the expensive parking fee), this hotel is wonderful for families and has an excellent hot breakfast daily."
