WOW!!! The views are absolutely amazing!!! Our room was clean and had everything you may need to make your stay more comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, small coolers and beach equipment. My favorite was the grill on one of the decks! Tropical Getaway is located above Bolongo Bay Resort, and is located on the south side of the island almost halfway between Charlotte Amalia and Red Hook. It is convenient to many of the island beaches and attractions, and 15-20 minuets (based on traffic) from the airport. Be aware, the road leading to the villa is truly an “island road”... steep & narrow. Kevin & Michelle are the most gracious hosts. They met us on our first day to show us what was where in our room and explained, about getting around St. Thomas. We ran into only a couple small glitches (of our own accord) during our 2 week stay. When we reached out, it was handled promptly. As animal lovers, we enjoyed our daily visits by Compass, with Buoy occasionally tagging along. They really helped it feel even more like home, and helped us miss our cats less. We love St Thomas, and really enjoyed our stay at Tropical Getaway! We \*loved\* our 2 weeks in this St. Thomas paradise - especially the sunrises over the ocean. Host Michelle provided a great island fact sheet & answered all our questions, then left us alone to enjoy ourselves! We texted her twice & received a quick response both times. The rental has a partial bedroom dividing wall & a pull-out sofa in the living room: perfect for 2 couples or a group of 4 pals. There's also a 16' Airstream for rent, a few yards down a short, rocky path. If you're going to the Virgin Islands with a group, rent both places & stick the teenagers (or partiers) in the Airstream. The Airstream sleeps 2 comfortably, 3 in a squeeze. If you're a close family or group of friends, 7 people could fit by renting both places. Or rent just one for a comfy couple retreat! This isn't a luxurious resort. It's a relaxed beach-view retreat, high on the hill over Bolongo Bay. Cuisinart pots , nice plates & mugs, \*incredibly\* comfortable beds with bamboo sheets add a designer-feel in the relaxed surroundings. Unlike a lot of VI home rentals, both these rentals have great AC - a help during the rare times the tropical breeze isn't blowing. If your plan is to get married on your trip, your host Michelle also performs beachfront wedding ceremonies! There are snorkles, beach chairs & games. Are you a cat lover? Compass & Buoy appear at the sliding glass door a couple times a day & love a good scratch! We loved every moment of our vacation. I can’t say enough about how friendly and helpful our host Michelle was! I feel like we had the true island experience that you do not get to see from a cruise ship or resort. Lots of comfy nuances in well organized private living space. Attentive Host provided a sufficient initial orientation as well as local info about food & activities available . The place was well equipped, with snorkel gear and beach chairs as well as two beautiful balconies overlooking the Caribbean. The apartment was very spacious for the two of us, filled with everything we could possibly need for a wonderful trip. Pay attention to the directions given and you'll find the place with no problem! We cannot say enough about our kind hosts who were responsive to all of our requests. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay in St. Thomas. ##### debbra f. The apartment was very airy and bright, the kitchen had all the staples for cooking away from home. We loved waking up each morning to have breakfast on one of the two balconies, watching the sea and boats. We had rented a car to explore the island during the day and it's many beautiful beaches and come back to our little haven after a day out. This location is perfect for anyone who wants to be away from any of the bustle of the large cruise ships that visit the island daily. We also had some adorable cats visiting us daily, which only added to the overall enjoyment of our stay! We cannot wait to visit again! ##### Melvin M. The suite was just as described, the climb up the mountain at first a little scary but by day two it was a breeze. The view is wonderful along with the breeze through out the place. We will be returning in November to stay again. FYI people leave food behind for the next visitors. We left alcohol and beer hot pockets beefpatties and some other things. ##### dwayne f. Excellent accommodations! Michelle is a wonderful and friendly host. Very responsive to your needs and very helpful with issues that arise. The unit is very comfortable and private. The views are spectacular, both sunrise and sunset from the decks, and the Caribbean Sea and ships coming and going. The breezes are fantastic keeps the unit very comfortable. The location on island is great but the road can be a challenge the first time you drive it, but becomes easier on subsequent trips. Looking forward to a return trip! ##### Claire L. Very hilly area but in our opinion you don’t have to rent an SUV we had a compact car and it was fine. Hammock is broken. Overall it was a great stay only a ten minute drive from red hook, and a 15 minute ride from and to the airport. If your staying here make sure to rent a car because a taxi won’t drive you up to the house. Make sure to bring toothpaste, wash and shampoo. Cute stay and loved the view from the balcony and drapery on the bed. Hosts were easy to get in contact with! Would recommend this location. ##### Aleksandra G. I have stayed at MANY home rentals all over the world and this was at the top of the list. This home should be listed at well over double the price for the view alone! I can guarantee it would be hard to find something else with this expansive view. Beautiful grounds and the home is everything you would need! Stocked with basic cooking supplies as well as beach gear (snorkeling, beach chairs, coolers) I just can’t say enough good things about the hosts either, they are always around to give tips and tricks to make your island experience excellent!
