A very disappointing experience. We booked our trip in April 2019 yet when we arrived on December 28th we were told the hotel was fully booked and we would have to stay in a 3* that night. The other hotel was 15 minute walk away with luggage and although the receptionist halfheartedly offered transport, this took so long we ended up walking anyway. Thankfully the substitute hotel (Topaz) was nice and we returned to the hotel for the remaining three nights without any issues. That was until our last night on New Years Eve. Before we were due to head in to town our key card stopped working and the card reader started beeping loudly every 2 seconds. After calling the staff a security guard came to look at the door - and unable to solve the problem - gave us an actual key to open the door. When asked about the annoying noise the response was "don't worry it will be loud anyway tonight being NYE". As it happened when we returned to the hotel at 1am the partying had stopped and we were left to spend our last night struggling to sleep without anyone present to a) solve the problem or b) offer a genuine apology. Just what we needed before a long trip home the next day. I notice one of the managers of the hotel frequently replies to these reviews. I wish they were more on the ball at the hotel as there were no attempts to communicate or apologise for our substandard stay.
