This place is AMAZING! I love the history and the “old time “ feel of it. The manager was so responsive and patient with me. The young lady that cooked breakfast and cleaned the rooms was BEYOND amazing. If you’re ever in the St Joseph area-I give this mansion 6 stars!!!

We never made for an evening stay, we went into use the bathroom and then we left. Staff were very nice and attentive for our brief 3 minute walk through to the bathroom. The area around the Whiskey Mansion are very unfavorable and rundown. Lots of halfway houses, We did not feel safe seeing most of the houses were abandoned and boarded up and people coming in and out of them. I really did have high hopes for this affordable property but safety is our top priority and concern.

Loved the beautiful mansion and its antiquities. Owen was very cordial and informative. Pressure of the shower was a little low so it took me a while to get the soap out my hair. Otherwise I loved it. The breakfast was phenomenal.

The unique feature of the Whiskey Mansion is the beautiful structure outside and inside. Its just overall a beautiful place and quiet. Breakfast is the best i had that any other place i stayed before. CLEAN, GREAT SERVICE

Air conditioning blew in our faces so put our heads at foot of the bed and that was much better. Could not adjust air conditioning. Steep stairs but did enjoy the lift. Wish we knew about it before dragging our luggage up upon arrival.

Each room has separate a/c (ductless mini-splits) . You as a guest have FULL control over it. Guests can control the vane (direction), fan speed, temperature, and on/off. As you stated, there is a stairlift to assist guests with special needs. Guests are always encouraged to ask for assistance during their stay.

Great place to stay!
Check-in was so easy! They asked about dietary restrictions and accommodated mine for breakfast. Set aside breakfast so we could eat after our race, even though it was after breakfast hours! The room was perfect! Jetted claw foot tub was heavenly!

Great overnight! Unexpected treat.
It was a quick overnight stay while we attended an area wedding. The surroundings were beautiful and interesting. The host recommended a lovely place for a quick bite between the ceremony and the reception. Breakfast was served promptly. Overall, it was a lovely experience, especially compared to the experiences of others from the wedding who stayed in the area.

The inside was beautiful. The outside needed some yard work. The breakfast was fine although he was the only one cooking and serving. Took a little time but the food was good. Not good for anyone with walking problems.

This beautiful, quiet bed and breakfast was the best stay my wife and I have ever had anywhere. Rich in history and lavishly furnished, it takes you back into a time when life was simple, romantic, and homey. The warm reception I received was unmatched to any I have experienced. Holly made us the best breakfast we have ever had together. The staff turned a one night pit-stop into an unexpectedly special experience. Thank you so much!

The building is beautiful. The water pressure is exceptionally low, was an effort to rinse my hair. The breakfast as delicious and the staff kind. The mattress is the Tower room dips in the center.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Staff was super - actually called and talked to me about my estimated arrival and checked in when I was running late - super friendly, very clean and comfy. Since its a b&b don't expect staff to be there 24/7. Beautiful old home that has been restored. A lot of the furniture and fixtures seemed period specific for the home, there is a nice parlor and cozy kitchen and dining room down stairs. The home smells nice and was clean. The home feels like it was pulled right out of history books The hostess greeted us and was very nice. Trans friendly business. Our room was a bit small but very comfortable. We stayed in the tower room as it was the only one left so thats probably why it was smaller. They served breakfast and all we had to do was wait on the front porch. They served quiche and toasted sourdough bread with honey on it and orange juice and coffee. There were glass wine glasses and plastic cups in the room. Thats a nice touch as most hotels dont provide wine glasses in the rooms. They made sure to have the room cool for us ahead of time. Its a short drive to many restaurants and other things. St joe isnt that big of a city so most things are 5 minutes away and 15 at the most. Wife and i had a wonderful time and will go back for sure.

Overall our room was clean. It just looked like it had not been dusted in and around the windows, some cobwebs present. The bed was not comfortable. It was so soft that we did not sleep well and had achy bones and muscles in the morning.

The hospitality and atmosphere were warm and relaxed, the room was beautiful with comfortable beds, and the food - a la the owner's brilliant local cafe, Belle Epoque - was excellent. Just a delightful stay, complete with great recommendations for things to do around St. Joseph.

Best Bed & Breakfast this year
The host/owner was gracious, accommodating, and very warm & friendly. He restored this historical Mansion from the ashes and is a must stay for anyone stopping on St Joseph, MO. We loved our stay and will definitely return ❤️
