Guests also have access to the Beach Club, Pool, and Restrooms. Walk in the door to a private, coastal retreat that provides an open concept with the Great Room, Entertainment Den, Kitchen, Dining, and Sun Room within view of each other! The Sun Room leads to an outdoor patio, with dining patio set that seats 6, with a water view for a meal and relaxation after a day at the beach. USA Today named Southport as one of the 10 Best Coastal Small Towns and Coastal Living named Southport as one of its Top 10 "America's Happiest Seaside Towns." The quaint, historic town has a walkable shopping district with boutique shops, numerous cafes, amazing waterfront restaurants, and some of the best places to grab a drink, listen to live music, and catch the sunset on the water. The Waterfront Park on the Cape Fear River offers a front row seat to the best sunrises and ability to enjoy watching passing ships on their way to the Port of Wilmington. Southport has easy ferry access to Bald Head Island and Kure Beach, which is also home to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fischer. You're only a 40 minute drive to historic Wilmington and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Myrtle Beach, SC. Feel free to ask for more detailed information on the best restaurants, bars and area activities. Step inside the front door to a welcoming Foyer that opens up to a beautiful, open concept, coastal decorated home that will put your mind at ease! From the Foyer, you'll enjoy the abundance of light that pours in from the front to back of the house and has full view of the Great Room, Entertainment Den/Room, Kitchen, Dining Area, and Sun Room. The Great Room has a large, comfortable couch, 3 cozy chairs, and a fireplace to kick back and enjoy a TV show or movie after a long day at the beach and pool. The TV is connected to an Amazon FireStick for streaming TV shows (YouTube TV), movies (Netflix) or anything else you prefer. Just off the Great Room is an Entertainment Den/Room that works great as a separate kids hangout area, which includes a large sectional couch, TV, and doors that can be closed. From the Great Room, you can step into the fully equipped Kitchen that has a large island that includes 4 stools to enjoy a drink or snack. The Kitchen also includes a pantry with ample storage for all of your groceries, an oven/stove, and large, french door refrigerator. Just off the Kitchen is a spacious Dining Area that seats 6 and has a wonderful view to the private, wonderfully landscaped backyard. Once the family has finished a delicious dinner, head out to the Sun Room through the door (off Dining Area) or accordian style slider (off Great Room) for dessert, drink, or game time. This room has 2 cozy chairs and a couch, with sliding windows that can be opened to take in those coastal breezes. If you're looking to get some additional fresh air, head outside from the Sun Room to the fenced backyard and Patio that includes a patio set (seating 6) and 2 additional adirondack chairs for taking in the water views and listening to wildlife in the distance. When winding down for the day, you'll rest easy knowing that 3 of 4 bedrooms are on the main level, providing ease of access for all! Down the hall from the Kitchen, you'll find the private and spacious Master Bedroom, that includes a King Bed and coffered ceiling. You'll also enjoy a large Master Bathroom with tiled shower, large bathtub, and his and her closets for all your belongings. On the opposite side of the house, you'll find 2 Guest Bedrooms that are separated by a hallway and shared bathroom that includes a shower/bath tub combo. Guest Bedroom 1 provides a Queen Bed with a tranquil and beautiful water view. Guest Bedroom 2 provides two Twin Beds and is great for a kids retreat. When heading down another hallway off the Kitchen and up a set of stairs, you'll find Guest Bedroom 3, which functions as a private 2nd Master Bedroom due to it's own full bathroom and spacious layout. The home was like new. Very comfortable furnishings, a kitchen with plenty of dish-ware and items for any cooking needs. It was very clean and extremely comfortable. Although we did not use anything that was in the garage I was amazed to see at least 4 bikes, fishing rods, beach games, a wagon, tent etc. Downtown Southport was right down the road having some wonderful restaurants and shops. It is just as described and beautiful. The home is located in a will maintained gated community. It is just a short car ride to the beach, cute shops, and great restaurants. The hosts were very responsive and provided wonderful recommendations for dining and shopping. We were in the area for a college visit to UNC - Wilmington. The ride to Wilmington is not too bad at about 45 minutes. Wilmington is a great area to explore too. We had expected two more people with us that could not make it so there was more room then needed for the four of us. My only constructive feedback would be to have some basics items like salt and pepper, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Having to buy items like this and then leave or dispense what is left after a week to me is a wasteful. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed using the kitchen and watching movies after spending time on the beach. We also enjoyed using the St. James beachfront pool. The drive to the beach and downtown Southport was very easy. We found the house rules to be a bit strict. For instance, no shoes in the house and the AC must stay at a specific temperature. One inconvenience that we experienced was that we had to check in with the front gate every time we came back to the house. The community is so large, that this added an 8 minute drive. It would have been nice to have a fob to get through the gate closer to the home. Overall, we had a great stay. ##### Anna R. Everything is clean and beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked, the furniture is comfortable, the house is well laid out and full of extra touches (games, books, lighting, desk for work from home, etc). The neighborhood is safe, lovely, and close to shopping, beaches, and the charming town of Southport. We had 5 adults, 2 of which were working from the house for a few days. The house has a beautiful open concept. However, there are plenty of spaces that can be closed off for privacy or quiet time. The patio with windows and screens can be opened up into the family to make one big room. Or closed off for a quiet retreat. It was perfect for our group and this house will be at the top of our list if we return as a group to the Southport area. ##### Julie S.
