the whitehouse Port fairy in the heart of town, pet friendly
8/10 Good
"Beautiful renovated property but a little musky inside . We arrived in the dark and it needs a senser light on front porch to see the code box . Great position to the street and shops"
"I wanted to leave a positive review as I felt the manager genuinely tries their best.
There's a total lack of privacy between the bedroom and bathroom. You would want to be in a very confident and comfortable partnership to share this room. There's literally NO privacy at all.
The bed is only a double which is a let down, especially with the $400 a night price tag.
Breakfast is off site but quire good.

"The property was exactly as shown with the extra touches of towel and treats for our puppy. The bed is extremely comfortable and a great shower. There is an easy walking path right across the road in to the village which takes about 20 minutes and communication with Simon was very good. All in all a relaxing stay."
"This clean, comfortable and pet friendly cottage was even better than the pictures! The kitchen is well equipped with a full-sized oven, fridge and space for us to cook meals. There's ample lounge rooms with fireplace and a very comfortable bed. Our dog was safe and happy in the secure pretty garden. Beautiful view over paddocks with gorgeous sunsets. Thank you, host, for your excellent hospitality. "
"We stayed for two nights at Drift House in Port Fairy and had a somewhat mixed experience.
The accommodation itself is absolutely stunning — beautifully designed, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together. It really feels like a special place to stay. We also dined in the restaurant and the meal was beautiful, with high-quality food and a great atmosphere. The staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, our overall experience was soured by our interactions with the owner, which left us feeling uncomfortable and somewhat judged during our stay.
It’s a shame, as Drift House has so much going for it and is in such a gorgeous location. Port Fairy is a stunning town and well worth visiting. With a different tone set at the top, this could have been an exceptional stay."
