NEW 10' wide county-owned beach path DIRECTLY due south from Sandtrap to the beach, located in between homes! This is an additional quicker beach access option. There is also the beach accesses at the end of the streets where the boardwalks are.
Welcome to "Sandtrap", a newly renovated small & comfortable beach place only a short walk to both the beach boardwalk and the county owned bay front park, (Regatta Park). Sandtrap offers privacy and seclusion on a quiet street only 150 yards to the beach!
Spacious 2nd floor accommodations along with a sundeck provides added enjoyment to your island experience. The first floor has a covered porch which is perfect for grilling and enjoying meals!
Our fresh and fully stocked kitchen offers all the amenities of home that would delight a gourmet cook. We're pleased to offer a variety of spices for your cooking enjoyment. The dining table seats 4 in a open floor plan.
We provide a park style charcoal grill, and a fish cleaning sink & table located downstairs. The washer and dryer are conveniently located upstairs adjoining the kitchen!
NEW AMENITY: 4 seat Club Car gas-powered GOLF CART with an additional space for a cooler is available for a minimum of 4 nights at an additional charge. In your VRBO inquiry or VRBO communication, please let us know if you'd like to reserve the golf cart. We will then add the fee and send you a separate payment request. At least a 7 day advance notice for reserving the golf cart is required. For photos of the golf cart, scroll to the end of the photos.
COUNTY GOLF CART REGS: Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid drivers license in order to drive a golf cart. No driving on Gulf Beach Drive and Franklin Boulevard, (although you can cross them), and no driving on the paved bike path that is parallel to Gulf Beach Drive.

We came for our honeymoon and the house was in a perfect spot! Not far from the beach and just a little oasis away from everyone. It was perfect for my husband and I!
Lovely place, easily walkable to the beach. Perfect for the two of us. Property manager promptly responded to questions and they placed nice little amenities like varied coffee flavors, lots of dishwares etc. Very good experience!

It was a lovely vacation. We were less than 10 minutes away from the beach on foot and the small island was delightful. We brought our e-bikes and enjoyed cruising all around St George Island. Our host was amazing, even left some delicious desserts for us. We found this vacation to be very relaxing and would recommend to anyone
SGI is a great place to vacation. Not crowded and laid back. The property was well located and better than advertised. The owners communicated with us prior to our trip and answered all questions. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Perfect size for the two of us. Had everything we needed for a sunshine retreat. Beach is a short walk, nice deck off the bedroom, and additional shaded outdoor space with picnic table and chairs on the ground floor. A good spot for our bikes. Plenty of space for parking. Quiet neighborhood. Owners made us feel welcome.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sandtrap 1. Everything about the place was perfect. We sat on the deck for coffee every morning and for stargazing at night. The sound of the Gulf from the deck was lovely. The place was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a four-night stay. The location was close to the beach on one side of the island and a little park on the bay side of the island that was perfect for watching sunset. It was a short drive or an easy walk to the downtown area. We will definitely stay there again when we return to St. George Island.
We had 8 teachers stay at this great house as a continuing tradition of having a week at the beach before school starts. Having 4 bathrooms and 2 kitchens was ideal! We even had a "kitchen wars" with teams on one of the nights! I loved the little nook with the single bed for quiet rest. The golf cart was well worth it for going to the beach and seeing sunsets over the bay. This was the most well supplied house we have stayed in!
Having stayed in plenty of of “sleeps two” rentals, we’re accustomed to tiny spaces on one floor. Sand Trap was not only clean but more spacious than we expected - and there were two sofas in front of the TV, perfect for afternoon naps between beach trips! I used the new public access path to walk to the beach, while my husband chose to make a 2-minute drive to another beach area for fishing. There were also special touches left by the host to make us feel especially welcome. We enjoyed our stay and our only complaint was that we had to go home!

I stayed with my 7 year old son on our yearly Mother/Son trip. The house was only two blocks from the gulf side, and the water was amazing. The first day the water was choppy, but perfect for boogie boards. The rest of the time it was still and perfect for floating. The water was crystal clear and the beach was not crowded at all. Dolphins were in view two of our days there.
We opted for the golf cart, and glad we did. It was used everyday. The house has everything you will need, and we received quick responses for any questions.
St. George Island is very quiet, and not touristy. There are a few restaurant options and some shopping. Expect an hour or two wait for dinner.
Don’t go expecting somewhere like Destin, because that is not the personality of this island. It is a perfect and peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of the mainland.
This property was so perfect for my family! It was very clean, the kitchen was full of cooking utensils, pots, and pans. We really enjoyed the double living rooms! SO MANY BATHROOMS! The outdoor shower was fantastic for eveyone to rinse off after the beach! The outdoor deck area was perfect, we enjoyed breakfast outside almost every morning without bugs bothering us. The golf cart is a NECESSITY! Golf carts seem to be the main way of transportation on the island. The was beautiful, not crowded at all. I could go on and on about this beautiful property. It was everything I could have asked for and more. We will definitely be booking this home for our family vacation next year!
We loved staying here for our week long vacation. They truly thought of everything. The extra amenities really helped secure a great experience. They had hampers in every bathroom and stocked with laundry and dishwashing detergent. The multitude of spices helped when we made burgers on the GIANT grill. they supplied literally any type of cooking dish you could need.
The only thing I would add would be a microwave and pantry in the second kitchen. We did lots of walking back and forth.
The best part was the screened in porch with the multitude of fans!

The property was immaculate and had everything we needed for our trip! I had a few questions before we headed to Florida and received answers from the owners within minutes. We would definitely stay at this property again.
We really enjoyed staying at your place on St. George Island! The house was spotless and had plenty of room to spread out and relax! The kitchen was well stocked! We enjoyed the patio underneath as well as the deck. Easy walk to beach, but we had so much gear we used the boardwalks. Would definitely stay again! Barbara was very friendly! Ron and Rhonda
The property was very clean and there is plenty of room! We couldn’t believe how much stuff they had in the kitchen for meal preparation and for fun at the beach. The property is close to the ocean and the golf cart is so much fun and allows for exploration of the island!
Sandtrap1 was a great place to stay for a week. It was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The deck was a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning and the covered patio was a nice benefit for the time it rained. The walking path next to the unit was a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. We were close enough to the beach while secluded on a quiet road. The owners were great with communication and the bonus treats were a nice touch. We are looking forward to staying at Sandtrap again.
