Near Amphitheatre, Historic Downtown, Beach Our Lighthouse & Beach Retreat is located 5 minutes drive from the beach, 7 minutes drive from downtown St Augustine, and a short bike ride to the amphitheater, this 4 bedroom 2 baths beach-side home with a pool is close to everywhere you want to be. Terracotta tile throughout. The house has one large smart TV located in the living room and another tv in the master bedroom. Centrally located to beach, amphitheater, lighthouse, downtown, and 312\. Everything is within biking distance. Large L shaped lap pool, NOT fully screened. Great kid and pet friendly neighborhood. Older established street with lots of shade trees. The pool heater thermostat is set to a temperature between 78 and 85 degrees F, depending on the time of the year. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled. The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins! The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself! Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup. If you have a large family and need a second location please inquire with the host about our other property that is nearby. We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Pool is fantastic! Love the twin beds in with the king size beds. Our son loved being able to stay in the same room. Just few small things that were strange.. like telling us not to pee on the seat and the heated pool was apparently set to 85 but no way it was that warm. Great location. Next time we will stay when it’s warmer so we can use the pool more. We actually loved staying in at night cause the house was so perfect for us. ##### Sarah D. The layout and amenities were perfect for our trip. The host stayed in contact with us and made sure all was good. So close to all that we wanted to do while visiting St. Augustine. We loved our stay at David and Patti’s home in St Augustine. It was such a cute home and close to the beach! I loved the outdoor spaces, it was really cozy. The pool was a great size as well. The king beds in every room made great sense for adults with littles who want them close by in a twin. The kitchen provides plenty of space to move around but the patio was the true hit! We had a key code to check in. The neighborhood was quiet. No one bothered us.Having a heated pool was great as the weather wasn’t super hot. The owner kept in touch with us via Vrbo messaging, and it was an easy process.. This is close to the beaches and restaurants not within walking distance but a quick 5 to 10 minute drive. We utilized the free parking at the St. John’s pier. The king and queen size beds were super comfortable. The only downside I can think of is the twin beds were a little hard, but we didn’t need to use those as there was enough larger beds for our family of 5\. The home was immaculate inside and out. It has a very homey feel. The pool and fire pit were enjoyable especially in the evening after a day at the beach!
