This home has been recently remodeled & boasts all new furniture, and every luxurious upgrade you could imagine. THE DOCK The dock has been redone and offers kayaking (age appropriate), with two kayaks and adult life vests, fishing, but please bring your own gear, a breathtaking view of the best sunrises Mother Nature has to offer, and is a minute by kayak to Bird Island for swimming or sunning at your almost private beach/sandbar where you will enjoy frolicking with Dolphin, rays, manatee and many beautiful birds in their own environment. A once in a lifetime experience! If you have your own watercraft 30 ft or under, motor or sailboat, you may bring it and dock at the house. There are several places to put in close to the home and you can then come and go on the waterways of the intracoastal or ocean for as long and far as you wish. \*Access to the dock area requires a signed waiver agreement sent upon request.\* THE MAGNIFICENT GROUNDS Also equipped to host your events for groups of 20 or less, the grounds which offer resort like landscaping with Italian water feature, and beautiful Italian table which originally was an olive oil press back in the 1800's, are sure to offer the most incredible venue for any occasion. At every turn you will find something to amaze you. For everyday family fun, the backyard lounge with screened in canopy offers Jenga, connect four, cornhole with bean bags, BBQ grill and a courtyard that will make you feel as if you are on a European vacation somewhere exotic! The pizza oven is not for use by guests. However, if you would like to have the owners arrange an Italian inspired Pizza Dinner with Chef to perform and serve, we can make this happen for you with an additional fee. What a fun and exciting evening that would be! PARKING Upon your arrival you will find ample parking in the garage and driveway. Also, street parking is allowed here. PLEASE COME IN! Inside you are greeted with a welcome basket and a complimentary Bella Vista Place tote. You will find for your convenience, hot and cold beverages such as coffee, tea, hot chocolate and instant oatmeal with creamers, sugar and honey. An assortment of snacks are there for you accompanied by flavored waters and soda. Always on hand is a water dispenser offering filtered water by the glass or cup. THE KITCHEN For those who love to cook, you will be pleased to find a fully stocked kitchen with upgraded appliances and many accessories that you would not typically find in a vacation rental such as a blender, waffle maker, panini grills, toaster oven, crock pot, hand mixer, French press and coffee maker with k cups and filter drip to mention a few. A full assortment of pots and pans for cooking or baking is there for your use as well as an assortment of spices to tempt your palate. A large assortment of ceramic and plastic place settings are there for your use inside or out, and grilling tools for a fun BBQ experience as well. HISTORY History marks the home as being built in 1915\. The basement was used as a speakeasy during prohibition. Rum was brought in from the Caribbean and they would wait on Bird Island and signal to come ashore at night. Once there they would sell and then trade rum for moonshine made by the judge living next door. If only the walls could speak! What an interesting place to not only visit but stay! BEDROOMS AND EXTRAS Now, with every modern luxury provided for your comfort and convenience, you will find Spa robes and slippers, luxury hotel like beds to sink into at night with all new mattresses, blankets and duvets, and pillows that are cool touch. Smart TVs and high-speed wireless internet are also available in each room. BATHROOMS The bathrooms offer all your amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion all for your exclusive use during your stay only and provided in environmentally safe biodegradable bottles. Guests will have access to the entire home and garage, minus a few locked closets and the basement. Located just half a mile away from the Castillo de San Marco and within a mile or so of everything in the historic district. Three miles from Vilano Beach and five miles from the St. Augustine Beach Pier. This is a nonsmoking property. There are no pets allowed. No shoes allowed in the house. The fireplace is not for guest use. The pizza oven is not for guest use. You must be at least 25 years of age in order to make a reservation. The person who makes the reservation must occupy the residence for the duration of the reservation. There are no pets allowed on the property. \- The pizza oven outside is not for guest use. \- The fireplace in the kitchen is for decorative purposes only. We stayed for a week with two families. Great location- quiet but close to all the activity downtown. Kitchen was amazing- we did not need for anything. We most enjoyed the dock and water sports and views. Loved the little island and beach we could paddle to. We will definitely be coming back again when it is warmer! Thank you! ##### Kathy K. Well-maintained, very spacious, well-equipped and lovely decor. Situated in a beautiful neighborhood with impressive views (loved having coffee on the front porch and watching the boats and wildlife). Love the shuffle game on the side porch, and such a unique area in the back outside. Also nice to have a driveway to park off street. Host was very responsive and helpful.. My mom, two sisters, and I chose this home for our annual "girls trip". We all loved the home!!!! It was very clean, and a great walking distance to the shops, and restaurants! We loved having the beautiful ocean view from the front patio for our coffee & wine. The property manager was excellent & went above & beyond to ensure we had a great stay. This was one of very favorites yet and definitely the most welcoming with snacks, robes and many activities provided. The dock across the street on the Matanzas River was our favorite gathering place. We fished, crabbed, swam, snacked and gazed at the glorious beauty of this property. We spent a long Mother's Day weekend here and loved every minute. The lovely 100+ year old house is beyond charming, in great repair and extremely well equipped. The beds and bathrooms were perfect for us. We will treasure the memories we made there and hope to return soon. ##### Gail M. Then when we got in the house we tried calling the number listed in the book and it was the old property manager. The book inside the house has not been updated with correct information. And the day after we checked out I sent him a message about something my son left in the house and he never replied back. The house itself was nice but the management needs work. ##### Emily B. We played games in evening, went to beach, shopped a little, played putt putt. WE HAD BREAKFAST IN, MADE LUNCH BUT OUT FOR DINNER. We really enjoyed the area. Could not reach property manager so we were waiting at house when someone finally have us the code to get in the house. Our son sat on rocking chair and he nearly got hurt when it broke. We had 1 glass break while grandaughter was filling it with water. We had a wonderful expierence other than not being able to reach Rachel and the rocking chair. ##### Norma P. The kitchen was the most equipped kitchen ever. We came to St. Augustine for my son's wedding and this house was ideal. We even had the photographer come and take pictures of the guys getting ready. We were nine 55 and 60 something women enjoying a beautiful home, beautiful view and a beautiful city.
