The hotel staff are great, there are a couple of reasons for marking this hotel down. If you ask the staff for something and they haven’t got it they will not try and get it for you they just leave it. Ie:- asked for 2 beach towels they only had one and had no answers as to getting another. Also the breakfast, yes it is ok, eggs, bacon etc every day plus fresh fruit which is lovely but they need to change it up a little and add some cheese, ham etc. Other than that the lift wasn’t working and had to go 3 flights of stairs every time we went to our room, but the staff will try and help and the hotel is situated near the beach and lots of restaurants so the location is good. I have given it a 3 but if I could have have would have been more a 3 1/2.

Great Hotel. Close to beach
Close to beach. Hotel staff very accommodating. Easy check in. Room service was good. Had Superior room, with air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini fridge, very large washroom/bathroom, HBO. Balcony and nice view of back of hotel with trees and wild monkeys, exotic birds in them. Breakfast deal is great. Omelets, and a nice fruit salad. Lots of restaurants nearby to choose from. Arrived from Colombo by highway bus for $3 USD(no complaints), then tuk-tuk to hotel. Easy find. Highly recommend.

Loved the whole visit. The checkin was simple and the front desk staff could not have been nicer during our stay. Anything we asked them to do, they did with a smile. The rooms were lovely. Very clean and comfy and the beds were great. The cleaning each day was very well done. The breakfast buffet is more than adequate (I'm not a big breakfast person, but there were made to order eggs and whatnot so it was fine). It's a very clean, very modern hotel.

Great location close to the beach minus the noise
Lovely staff to welcome you and make you feel at home. Large,modern bathrooms and spacious rooms. Nice breakfast on the terrace. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Nice, clean hotel within minutes from the beach.
The staff were very friendly and helped us organise our tours and provided a packed breakfast for the early morning starts which is very helpful. The food was great (esp the daal curry) and nothing is ever too much for the hotel staff. It was also my birthday while I was staying at the hotel and as a surprise they decorated the room in the cutest way and I had a chocolate cake waiting for me too. Great service and highly recommend this place!

Great location. Whilst its doesn't have direct beach access or a pool, you only have to walk a minute to get to the water. Great staff, complimentary breakfast (I had an omelette each day), clean room, perfect location.

Very pleasant hotel walking distance from beach
When we were driven we weren't sure what to expect as the road had a few rough looking places but when we pulled up our fears were eased. The hotel is the best looking on the street, the friendly welcome helped us settle and the location is perfect for a stroll to the beach, which has numerous bars and restaurants. The room was spacious and clean, the food was good and although the initial view from the balcony isn't that great, if you give it a few minutes you will see a stunning array of wildlife.

Friendly and comfortable stay
We had a very comfortable stay at the Gloria Grand Hotel. It was excellent value for money. Our room was at the front of the hotel and for some this might be noisy, but we enjoyed seeing the bustle of Unawatuna life going on. Our room was a decent size with a good bathroom. It was immaculately clean however we would have liked our towels and bedlinen changed more often. The hotel staff were keen to clean our room, which was great but not at 8 in the morning! It was also a little noisy in the morning. Breakfast was excellent and the coffee improved. The waiters were polite and very helpful, especially Chana. The restaurant was also very good. We had the best curry of our trip there. It is a shame that more people do not visit it. We would definitely stay at the hotel again without hesitation.

Cute hotel with very friendly staff
This is my review from TripAdvisor: I had originally booked 2 nights at another hotel (Thambapanni Retreat) but had added an extra night in Galle - unfortunately no rooms were available so I booked a night at the Gloria and I was not disappointed. Although the hotel isn't large it is clean and well maintained and the location is excellent (only 5 minutes walk from Unawatuna beach). We were given a free upgrade and the room was spacious and clean with an excellent bathroom. We even had a little balcony we could sit and people watch. The staff like most Sri Lankans were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us. For example when we checked out we left our bags with the hotel to move them later. On our way back we were caught in a heavy shower and were soaked to the skin. Not only did the hotel provide us with towels but they gave us a spare room to change and make use of the room's facilities. This is the kind of customer service that would definitely make me want to go back - highly recommended.

A few things that are not computer meeting my expectation. 1) the hotel uses its own electricity generator therefore the flow is not stable 2) we did not render our room key in one morning therefore the room was not prepared when we were back in the afternoon. We had to wait the clean towel to arrive after 9 pm 3) when you look from the balcony it was quite raw and rough

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gloria. The staff really made this a great stay. Nothing was too much for them. The hotel is well resourced, clean and has great beds. The only down side was that it is difficult to access wifi. Very close to beach, restaurants, bars etc. Perfect spot. Very child friendly. Pleased to see a quiet police presence in the area.

Good hotel, great location
Hotel is conveniently situated. It is a 2-minute work to the beach. It is also not far from the major road, if you want to use convenient public transportation to visit other nearby cities and beaches. The hotel is new, the service is great and the rooms are clean. We had a balcony with a fantastic view. The management is planning to expand and add a pool and other facilities. They even sought our input as to what additions would be more desirable. Hats off to them.

Clean, comfortable rooms in a new apartment (like other "hotels" in the area, Gloria Grand feels more like apartment to me than a hotel") which is 5-10 mins walk away from the beach. Service staffs were friendly and showed great attitude to customers. Every morning we were greeted by a warm welcome from the waiter in the cafeteria. Breakfast was simple but sufficient to fill u up before going out to enjoy the seafood that is available outside. Overall a great place to stay and definitely one of the better ones I've seen in the area.

everything was fantastic. Booked for three nights, stayed three more. Room is great, a.c. works nicely and some good tv channels. Hot shower. Breakfast delicious. Staff super nice. Location great, and very quiet. Wifi good, but was spotty in our room. Laundry service but only by the piece and not weight, so took it down the street... Had dinner at the rest a lot, chicken curry was great. Would recommend this place!

Visitato ad Agosto 2019 prenotando 2 camere doppie ad un prezzo assurdo (circa € 28,00 per entrambe). Appena arrivati l' hotel si presenta in ottimo stato, con una piccola reception. Cocktail di benvenuto. Posizione centrale al paesino con molti locali vicini sulla spiaggia. Le camere sono ampie, ben arredate, abbastanza pulite confortevoli. Il Wifi non è un grand che ma è accettabile. Noi avevamo una camera vista frontale (indicazione mare) ma è abbastanza rumorosa perché c'è sotto la strada con un bel via vai anche notturno, l' altra era sul retro vista collina, non molto bello il panorama ma il relax è assicurato. Presente aria condizionata (a noi non era compresa ma non faceva caldissimo) + pale a soffitto. Il personale è super gentile e premuroso, vi fanno sentire a casa. La colazione è servita in una bellissima terrazza, la scelta è buona e servono anche pietanze fatte al momento. Consigliatissimo.

Чудове співвідношення ціна/якість!! Просто дуже привітний персонал (без виключення) Декілька разів вечеряли у отельному ресторані - рекомендуємо (ціна / якість на висоті) Сніданок дуже пристойний у порівнянні з іншими Зручне розташування Краще брати номер з виходом в сад, а не на дорогу (наприклад 104) Загалом - варто звернути увагу на цей отель. Рекомендуємо!

Very nice hotel, central location in Unawatuna, very close to beach and most restaurants. The breakfast was nice and comprehensive, but sometimes part of dishes were already eaten when we came. Service is nice and very friendly in this hotel.

We stayed 1 night longer. The Prior Room was besutiful and we were very happy to be there. The Hotel Management was very nice and offered is a good Price and told us a lot about Unawatuna. We only Clan say thank you.

私たちは一泊の予定でしたが三泊しました。 ホテルの室内は清掃が行き届き綺麗でシャワールームも広く使いやすい。 バルコニーからはリスやサルが見れるので楽しいです。 また、スタッフはフレンドリーで親切です。 朝食ビッフェも種類があり美味しく食べれます。

Great Gloria Grand
Very clean hotel. Great location in the middle of everything - shops, restaurants & beach is near. Wifi works very well even from the room. Staff is great. There's even reasonable priced own hotel tuk-tuk. Worth every penny!

Gut gelegen und sehr komfortabel
Wer direkte Strandnähe sucht sollte weiter suchen, aber die Ausstattung ist sehr gut! Leider haben wir eigentlich die honey Moon Sweet gebucht, die aber nicht ohne weiteres bekommen… Leider trauen wir uns dann auch nicht darauf zu bestehen.

Das Gloria Grand liegt mitten in dem kleinen Örtchen unawatuna, zum Strand läuft man ca 5 Minuten an kleinen Shops und Lokalen vorbei. Frühstücksbuffet klein, aber absolut ausreichend. Das Personal super freundlich. Zimmer sind sehr sauber, aber ohne viel Schnickschnack. Waren 3 Nächte hier und uns hat es gut gefallen.

We enjoyed our stay at Gloria Grand Hotel. 5 minutes walking to the beach, good breakfast,good service and a nice room - with our own balcony. Only downside was noise from traffic. Convenient location - even though staying right on the beach would have been better :-) And obviously much more expensive. All together a good quality modern hotel. Highly recommendable

精致酒店
酒店在小巷中，但是酒店的周边餐馆，纪念品商店，果汁店，SPA，瑜伽，非常的齐全。走路5分钟就到沙滩，海鲜应有尽有，就是价格要比美瑞莎贵一点。酒店不是很大，类似我们国内的快捷酒店，但是布置和设施还是比快捷酒店要高档一点，有提供早餐，就是早餐的品种比较单一。每个房间都有独立卫生间和独立的阳台，如果有洗衣服，方便晾晒。卫生间内都是有大按摩浴缸，还有一个淋浴间。酒店离加勒古城有点远，但是离海滩很近，潜水，游泳都非常的方便。加勒古城有点远，比较喜欢古城气息的，不推荐入住这里，这里比较适合海边度假。

Выбором отеля остались довольны. Важно выбрать номер на противоположную от дороги сторону. Во многих номерах кондиционер дует на кровать, крайние номера могут быть лишены этого недостатка. Завтраки хорошие. Персонал очень дружелюбный. Пляжные полотенца выдают без проблем. Полотенца в душе укладывайте на пол, чтоб заменили.
