We only had a few days to explore Split and wanted to be centrally located. The property was perfectly located in the old town and we were just steps of away from the shops, restaurants, and amazing historical sites. The property had a bed and breakfast type of feel but it was ultra modern, clean, and quiet. Our room was on the top floor and it was spacious and beautifully designed. The bed, however was really hard with a wooden board in the middle (I believe it was two twin beds that were pushed together to make a king, which is common in Europe). The bathroom was spacious with an open walk-in shower design. The staff were very kind and helpful during our stay without being intrusive. Overall, we were very happy with the accommodations and we loved staying in Split and at the Aspalathos Residence. I would warn that our navigation system directed us to drive in a pedestrian only area and we didn't realize until we had driven down the street that we are were the only cars...oops. A self-parking lot is nearby (very walkable) so I recommend parking your car there (7 kuna an hour or about 25-30 euros per day). If you do a day trip to Hvar...I recommend you just take the car ferry and drive yourself. The taxi's were a bit of rip off and it would have been cheaper to just ferry our car from the Ferry port and drive the 15 minutes to Hvar.
