The Bungalow was very clean and the reason I gave it a 4 rather than a 5 is because the furniture was stained, the couch was bumpy from the springs and the bedspread didn’t smell fresh. The place itself was quite cool with the old wood mixed in the structure. The kitchen is beautifully redone and is well stocked. The bed was comfy although it is a very tight room for space. We absolutely loved the "quiet side" of Southwest Harbor. It was centrally located to all the activities we wanted to do. Numerous amazing places to eat (both Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor). Everything about the place was just as advertised. It was a great space for one or two people. I really loved the location, just a few blocks from shops and restaurants but far enough away that pulling out into traffic wasn’t a problem. I had a tiny glitch when I first got there (all on me) and when I reached out I had an answer within minutes. We were able to eat breakfast, pack a lunch and spend the day in the park hiking and biking.....and then return for dinner and a good night's sleep. Quiet, great location, clean, all the things you'd need in a kitchen without being cluttered. Laundry was a bonus. Clear instructions from the host, and very responsive to any questions. It had everything we needed and is in a great location, especially close to the Bass Harbor lighthouse. Tasteful, comfortable, furnishings and kitchen/dining setup. A curated set of everything you need rather than a hodgepodge of items left by previous guests. On a main road, so close to swimming, hiking, SW Harbor center and other Quietside places, while not far from the other, busier side of MDI.
