We enjoyed the close proximity to the restaurants and shops in Southwest Harbor and hiking the nearby Ship Harbor Trail. Additionally, the amenities-washer/dryer, outdoor deck, extra towels, adequate kitchen supplies(pots, pans and dishware) make a long stay enjoyable. It accommodated a family of four comfortably. The inside was clean with updated bedroom furniture and updated bathrooms. The whole place felt bright and welcoming with a coastal vibe of hand-picked decorative artwork and furnishings. The cottage can be warm and cozy perfect for cooler weather or open and breezy to take advantage of warmer days. Shops, dining, bakery, and even the post office were all within walking distance. The local market was just a short drive for us to dine in among the tree tops on the porch. It was nice to come back to SW Harbor where it was quieter than Bar Harbor. This place is located next to the Claremont Hotel which was super convenient for getting a delicious meal one evening. They also have a coffee shop/bakery. The one downside being next door to this hotel was that their laundry facility was directly behind our bedroom and they had outdoor security lights on all night that shone into the bedroom. I think if there were room darkening curtains that would be really helpful. Otherwise the place was very clean and it was a comfortable bed (good for my back issues).
