Kraken House is steeped in maritime mystery and was thought to have modestly housed many merchant ship Captains. The very walls echo the stories told by the returning seafarers, of the mysteries and the monsters that lurk in the ocean depths.

Constructed in 1834 by Oxford University, the property is a Grade II listing building.
