stayed here as we were seeing stereophonics at the arena and handy for the tram. dropped the bags in the room and went straight out, got in 2am had breakfast and left. it was clean, breakfast was nice and we slept ok. every staff member was friendly can't say anything bad about the place.

Very clean-friendly welcoming staff-well decorated-elegant crockery-lavish breakfast. Noisy bc of being on road.sound proof widows ll help.stairs very steep.

When booking we got the impression it was a family place. So we arrived with our 9 year old and 4 year old to find it was full off yound lads f ing and jeffing everywhere so we left as we knew it would be a nosey night. Not happy at all no signs of them offering to refund us either. Wasted £120

Friendly, uncomplicated B&B experience
Very cordial welcome. The place is spotless and the Sunday full English breakfast was of good quality. Staff were professional, friendly and unobtrusive. We wish them all the very best.

Great B&B. Friendly team :)
The team at Alara Bed and Breakfast we're really friendly. Upgraded my wife an I to a bedroom with ensuite after some confusion with a number of guests with the same surname. They also have a fabulous full English breakfast.

Nice clean basic bed and breakfast
Stayed here for 3 nights, working locally. I can't fault the place, right next door to Hillsborough ( home of Sheffield Wednesday) on a busy main road. Mehmet the owner was very friendly and helpful.Off road parking for about 6 cars,the stairs are steep,the room was basic with a sink,tea and coffee facilities and a small tv,comfy bed.Never had breakfast so can't comment on that.I would definitely stay again.

Really nice, friendly place.
Room was nice and friendly helpful staff. Area is fairly industrious but a 5/10 minute walk to the nearest town. The staircases(as previously stated) are the steepest I've ever seen and parking is s tight squeeze but I'd recommend the place to a friend.

Good for a short and cheap stay
I was in the twin room adjacent the emergency door. The beds were adequately comfortable, but there was a smell of damp in the room. The was clean, tidy and with tea and coffee facilities. Access to the room was via two VERY steep ramps of stairs. With narrow and shallow step, anybody with mobility impairments or restrictions or more elderly would struggle to navigate these stairs. The staff were pleasant. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Shared toilets are at the top of one of the flights of stairs but were very clean and functional.

Not what we expected
This hotel seems to be more a staying place for traveling labour workers from Eastern Europe. Nothing wrong with that however as a holiday hotel it fell short. Warrens of rooms here and there. Ours was up a flight of stairs that were far to steep. And the stair treads themselves were half the size a a grown-up's foot. It was like climbing a carpeted ladder. We left luggage in car and brought just the essential both nights. Breakfast was continental and there was a charge that we felt was too high. The room was very very small and mattress and covers had seen there day (although they were clean). We were fortunate enough to be given an upgrade to an ensuite room. Parking was scary-tight/congested and we had to move our car twice to make room for someone to get out. If this had not been the case, what we paid for the two nights would have been nothing short of absurd.

Clean, safe but not so close to the town centre
It was alright, the man there is really nice and helpful. The room was big enought just for me and there was a sink in the room what it's always nice. The stairs are too step, that could be a bit of a problem for some people but I did enjoy having 4 showers and 4 toilets to choose from... it was the first time I felt safe or relaxed in a shared bathroom. Is such a funny house full with bedrooms and stairs everywhere, because the way it is I actually felt more secure (but a bit confused also) The only thing I didn't like it was that I payed for breakfast and I didn't have it because I went at 7:30 and the breakfast time at sunday starts at 8. And you need to take a bus to go to the town centre that takes 20 minutes but pass often.

hotel was perfect staff perfect breakfast perfect showers and tolet perfect stairs are like mountings but that didn't bother me possibly not to good for old people but overall 9/10 was very very good value for money

OK if you need somewhere really cheap
This is a very cheap B&B and you get what you pay for. Very small spaces and steep stairs, going to the loo is a chore. My room was far too light, a velux window with a white blind that didn't block any sun woke me at 5am.

Great breakfast, steep stairs.
Hot breakfast outstanding but only served on weekends. Dragging the luggage up 27 steep stairs was the huge drawback, but they said I could have had a ground floor room if I had asked. So, if you stay here you should ask in advance for the ground floor. Happy Sheffield Wednesday fans woke me at 3am Sunday, but they were quiet once I spoke to them. Handy to Hillsborough stadium and City tram.

great hotel close to zombie experience
Stayed in the hotel as it was close to the zombie experience in the old soldley tool factory just 10 mins down the road, staff nice and friendly, breakfast was really good will be staying there again.

Decent Budget Hotel
Decent, unglamourous but functional stay. You get what you pay for, which in this case is a decidedly cheap but not unpleasant stay; small towels, small rooms. Service was basic but friendly. Just fine if you're staying on a budget.

The room was average. But you had all you needed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff makes you feel at home. The only fault is the stairs going to your room are very hard to get up and down. But this is the second time we been. So that speaks for it self. If you just need the basic with a great breakfast and value for money I would go
