"We stayed here for a couple of nights on a short tour of the Jurassic Coast. The location is spectacular and you can almost step out onto the beach. There is a lovely bay window which you can sit in and watch the world go by listening to the sound of the waves. If only this had been a nice padded seat, I might not have wanted to leave. Parking is a bit of a problem in Lyme Regis but there was no noise from the restaurants below, which I thought might be a problem"

The Royal Lion Hotel

8/10 Good

"The Royal Lion Hotel is a nice place to stay. It is in a very good position to explore Lyme Regis from. The staff are very nice and helpful and friendly. The food was good for me as I have some food intolerances and I could always find something tasty to eat. I hope they light the fires in the bar soon as it is getting chilly and a fire is so comforting. We had a very nice room with access to a garden and seating. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept well. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water as well. I also like the traditional rooms on the upper floors as they are more in keeping with the age of the building. I hope the Royal Lion is not modernised too much. We want to stay there because of the Tradition of the building, the décor including furniture and the comfort. Please don't modernise too much. We will be back."

"We recently stayed in the Bull hotel and opted for a delux room. WE are so glad we did as the room was wonderful. very impressed, The stairs to the upper floors may be a challenge for the less mobile but I was told there a few rooms on the ground floor, one of which is deluxe. The hotel is convenient for the main shopping area and has a vety useful parking area to the rear of the hotel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. A good breakfast and evening meal. The outside seating looked good too. A great place to stay in a lovely town."

"The Farm house has that Wow factor. Fantastic activities for all ages - 7 - 80 years! Great pool for a decent swim and plenty of 'floats' for younger children. Pool table, table tennis and skittles alley superbly placed in the barn. Comfortable chairs to watch play. Very spacious area The kitchen was very well equipped and a selection of groceries welcomed us. Wonderful for the ten of us to sit round the kitchen table for breakfast etc. It always seems a hub of the home. Dining room perfect for the evening meal in candle light. We didn't have a fire though it was tempting as the wood was supplied. The beds and bedding were so cosy and comfortable. So good for so many of us to have en suites. We visited Bridport for the market and shops and also West Bay and the Harbour. On Sunday we went fossil hunting on Charmouth beach. AND found a fossiled fern! We self catered all our meals which was fun. Thank you Moorbath Farm house for exceeding my expectations celebrating my 80th birthday with my son and daughter and their families"

"Pet-friendly location, ideal if you want to explore the surrounding areas of outstanding beauty. As advertised, it backs into a busy A road so don't expect to be able to relax in the garden for long. Once the doors are windows are shut though the noise from the road is hardly noticeable inside. Property was clean and as advertised, easy to access. Communication with the host was minimal but very efficient. Host provided bread, milk, butter, jam, tea and coffee, a very nice touch and very useful for the first morning in the property. There is a TV in the living room but we never used it, hardly spent any time inside. Will definitely consider again if we go back to the area."
