About this property

1 Bed in South Molton (oc-59339)

  • This detached barn conversion has been thoughtfully designed by the owner and no attention to detail has been left out, making this a truly unforgettable couple’s retreat in stunning rural surroundings. It’s situated on the edge of the peaceful hamlet of East Knowstone and within 2 miles of a popular 13th-century inn, where you can enjoy a special meal or a bar snack after a busy day’s adventures. On the edge of Exmoor National Park, it’s perfect for those wishing to walk or cycle this awe-inspiring landscape. There are an array of pretty market towns and villages to explore in the area, including Dulverton, South Molton, Withypool and Exford, all within 16 miles. Head to the coast to discover the string of sandy beaches on Devon’s north coast, including Minehead, 25.5 miles and Saunton, 29.5 miles, together with a collection of traditional fishing villages and towns such as Lynton, Lynmouth, and Porlock, all less than 30 miles away.

This charming and spacious former farm building, approached by a private driveway, is situated on the edge of a working farm, nestled in the corner of an open field amongst open countryside and farmland. Upon entering the beautiful accommodation, you are greeted with a light and airy open-plan lounge/diner with rugged exposed beams and a timber floor. In the summer you can open the doors to the sun-trap garden to let the outside in, or in the cooler months snuggle up on the comfy sofa in front of the wood burner while watching your favourite programme on the Smart TV. This room flows through to the perfectly equipped kitchen, a great space for cooking lazy breakfasts or trying out new recipes. There is also a utility/boot room with a washing machine, ideal for storing muddy boots after a walk in the countryside, or drying muddy paws. Plus handy downstairs WC. Head upstairs from the lounge/diner to the spacious master bedroom, complete with super-king-size bed, a spectacular vaulted ceiling and a floor-to-ceiling window boasting gorgeous countryside views. There is a luxury en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath and separate shower.

Outside you’ll find a large, enclosed garden with far-reaching countryside views, great for both you and your four-legged friends to relax in. On the patio you’ll find a table and chairs, sun loungers and a charcoal BBQ as well a hot tub - which is particularly inviting at night, when guests can enjoy the warm, bubbling water under the star-filled skies.
