We stayed for a week at Hotel Au Bon Coin in Biarritz. I can honestly say it was one of the best small hotels we have ever stayed at. The deluxe room with a beautiful sea view was wonderful, the location was quiet with shops nearby and a short 15min walk to the centre of town and beaches. All the staff without exception were friendly and helpful. Breakfast which is provided daily for a small fee was exceptional, locally sourced fresh produce and daily baked cakes. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Biarritz, look no further.

We stayed three days and it was fine. The furnishings were basic. The property is very poorly equipped in that you need to provide your own washing up liquid, sponge, drying up towel, dishwasher tablets, loo cleaner, hand soap etc. . There is nothing to eat or drink provided by the owners - no welcome pack… first stop the supermarket. Bedding and towels are the minimum too and if I was going again, I would take my own towels. You have to pay a 500 euro deposit and clean up and remove the dirty linens when you check out.
Car park is super tight, spaces are ok size but there is little space to manoeuvre.
The people on the reception and by email were delightful, there is a nice swimming pool and grounds to walk around. The area is surrounded by campsites and there are a couple of casual restaurants within a short walk. Convenient for the coast path and a nice walk into the town - 30 mins plus each way.

Very helpful staff members. Gave us wonderful information and tips. The location is wonderful for walking everywhere and the hotel was clean and comfortable for us and our baby.

The room we had desperately needs refurbishment. Bathroom in particular very dated.
Hotel bland and old fashioned.
