Old barn renovated in July 2018 and unusual cabin Ideal location for discovering Alsace! 30 km from Strasbourg, 1 hour's drive to Colmar, 1 hour from Europapark, 30 minutes from the Royal Palace, and nature at the foot of the gite. Ideal for sports enthusiasts, with a nearby mountain range at 652 metres (mountain biking and cycling) and the Schneeberg at 961 metres. The Gite is located at the end of the street, in an old house that also offers La Maison d'Amélie. We live on the property. We offer a gite with a large living area, with a large kitchen opening onto the lounge and dining room and a wood-burning stove. The terrace can be accessed directly from the living room, and is beautifully exposed throughout the day. Half sun in the morning, sun at midday and in the evening. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus liegt total ruhig am Rande des Dorfes. Die Ausstattung ist super, alles ist sehr modern und stilvoll eingerichtet. Man kann es sich richtig gemütlich machen, auch wenn das Wetter mal nicht so schön ist. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Toll war auch, dass wir Brot und andere Backwaren täglich beim Vermieter, Herrn Ring, per WhatsApp bestellen konnten. Die Backwaren wurden vom Bäcker in einer Kiste im Dorfzentrum (5 Minuten Fußweg) deponiert und man konnte sie dort abholen. So musste man nicht täglich zum Supermarkt fahren. Große Supermärkte sind in Marmouthier und Wasselonne in 10 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar. Das Außengelände des Ferienhauses hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen, im Sommer kann man es natürlich besser nutzen. Unsere Tochter fand die "besondere" Hütte zum Schlafen fantastisch. Sie ist auch wirklich unglaublich gemütlich.Der Ort Birkenwald liegt sehr idyllisch am Fuß der Berge in einer Hügellandschaft. Man kann viele schöne Sachen unternehmen, wandern, Städte anschauen (in Straßburg ist man in 30-40 Minuten mit dem Auto), Burgen oder Schlösser besichtigen... uns hat es supergut gefallen! ##### Antje B. In 7km sehr gute Einkaufsmöglichkeit plus Tanken (Marmoutier). Alles ist da was man für einen Urlaub braucht. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett, spricht gut deutsch, so dass man sich auch mal unterhalten kann. Er hat uns viele Tipps gegeben was man in der Umgebung so alles anschauen kann. Alles in allem kann man dort einen schönen Urlaub erleben. ##### Manuela D.
