Great house for large group

A Somerset Sanctuary
We recently visited Somerset for the weekend for a family gathering and stayed at the Somerset School House. You really could not ask for more suitable accommodation for a larger group. The old school house is rich in the regional history and the building still echoes to the days when it was filled with children learning their ABC's. Beautifully restored with modern decor and appliances, every element considered for a relaxing stay. The amenities were fabulous, the outdoor bbq area was perfect with plenty of seating, fans, outdoor fridge and large bbq. The children loved being able to use the large chalk board under the building when it was raining and to do colouring on the old school desks. All the rooms were fitted with comfortable beds and nautical themed decor. We were pleasantly suprised to find additions like tea, coffee, a coffee maker, mosquito coils and hairdryers, plenty of outdoor bbq cutlery & crockery, everything you could need or want for your stay. We look forward to returning for another long weekend in future. Thank you very much for providing us with the perfect place for a long overdue family gathering.

Loved our stay
Clean & tidy, loved the decor. Easy to get to. Close to the event we were attending at coronation hall, easy to walk to. Comfortable beds and Air conditioned throughout. Beautifully renovated.

Perfect place to stay for larger families or friends
We stayed her for ours sons wedding, it was perfect for our large family and just a short walk to Coronation Hall. The Old Schoolhouse is well presented and there is ample space for everyone I would recommend this accommodation to anyone especially if you have a larger group or family

Great house for a big group
This is a great house for a big group! It’s hard to find somewhere that will sleep so many people, but it was perfect for our needs. It was decorated and renovated beautifully and the kitchen was well stocked. There was a loud house party next door both nights, but that isn’t something in the hosts control. There were three showers and two toilets, but with 15 people, one more toilet would have been good! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back.

Amazing stay
The photos don't do this beautiful property justice. Plenty of space for everyone and everything provided. We had a great time, fantastic scenery and close to The Spit. The fire was a great hit. We will definitely return.

Family birthdays long weekend
The occasion was for my 70th birthday, our son's birthday, 2 days later and a grandson's 1 day later. Everything was on hand, plenty of family room, room to park our boat easily, excellent communication with Property Manager, younger kids loved the bunks. Only suggestion is for a light over the BBQ.

School of Frock
We were at Somerset Dam for my son’s wedding. My husband and me, 3 of our children and their partners plus our 5 young grandchildren. When we arrived we couldn’t believe our luck. The place is fun and sumptuous. Photos don’t do it justice. The set up was perfect for our family. The generosity of the owners in providing everything we could possibly want including activity books etc for the kids in the cute old wooden school desks. The beds were comfortable and we were so cosy. We were all able to get showered and frocked up for the wedding with plenty of space. It was then a very easy two minute walk to the reception in the memorial hall. Nicki is a delightful host. She couldn’t have been more helpful. Sad it had to end. We would love to come back. Thank you Nicki

Perfect Weekend Getaway for Group of Friends
The Schoolhouse at Somerset has been beautifully renovated and styled with love. We have been staying here for years and it has never looked as good as it does now. The new owners have set it up perfectly for large groups. Ample parking for boats and jet skis and a great kitchen for feeding everyone. We’re already planning our next stay here.

Wonderful Getaway
Thank you Nicki for sharing your stunning holiday house with us. The Hamptons styling throughout the home is beautiful, high quality and well thought out. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the linen of the highest quality. The home is so well stocked with everything you could possibly need and so much more! Nicki was the most accommodating, well organised and easiest to deal with property manager I have ever dealt with in over 20+ years of travel. Our group had the most relaxing, enjoyable Ty and memory making stay, and look forward to the next time we are lucky enough to stay again. Thank you

Our Sons Wedding
I can highly recommend a stay at The Old Schoolhouse. We booked for our sons wedding & were not disappointed. Unfortunately we weren’t there long enough to appreciate this clean & well presented house. Very fresh looking & much nicer than the photos! With the extra bathroom almost completed it will be great. A special mention to our host, Nicki, who was so obliging & helpful. It was very much appreciated when you’re not sure what to expect. Wish we could have stayed longer, we’ll definitely be going back!

Wonderful Holiday Home
Our extended family enjoyed a wonderful 3 night getaway in this beautiful transformed old school house. The close proximity to the dam made for fun mornings on the water, while the attention to detail, family friendly layout and spacious home made relaxing easy and extremely comfortable. Ladies weekend away
A group of 9 ladies enjoyed our weekend at The Old School Somerset Dam. The accomodation was excellent suiting all our needs. The extra bunk beds were great to allow most of us to have our own bed. The photos on Stayz do not do this accomodation justice, it is so much better. The little extras the hosts provided were a lively surprise. We will hopefully be back, and will recommend it to others. Charming and spacious
Our large family had a brilliant time on a short three-night getaway at The Somerset Dam schoolhouse. The house is well-equipped with everything you could need, and oozes rustic charm for a country getaway. A spacious lounge room with cozy fireplace, plenty of room to spread out for board games, and a large kitchen suited to feeding a crowd made this the perfect holiday home for an extended family group. Antique and vintage touches throughout the home added to its charm. The nearby village of Toogoolawah (15min drive) is well worth a visit.
