We stayed at the hotel on our way to catch the ferry from Caen to the UK. The location is very peaceful next to the Solesmes Abbey. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was of a high quality. Our superior room had a balcony and air con and was spacious. Our little border terrier, Lola, was made very welcome and we found a lovely walk next to the river behind the Abbey. However the hotel was just too hot. The air conditioning in the restaurant was barly functioning and there was no A.C. in the room - other than an electric fan. We arrived quite late and they managed to squeeze us in to the restaurant for an excellent meal (for example there were 19 cheeses to choose from on the cheeseboard). Only issue was that it was a hot night and there is no air con, which would have been nice but not essential as we were able to leave the balcony window open.
