"This is a lovely hotel, in a beautiful location, close enough to the touristy area if you want to take advantage of it, yet set apart if you want to ignore it.
The accommodation itself is not that impressive. The standard rooms seem a bit worn-out, especially considering the price!
However, their restaurant Utsyn is wonderful. Very tasty dishes, if small, selective menu. There is also a buffet with the usual Norwegian price (high).
Flam is beautiful. This hotel is a few steps from the train, so it's super practical when you've just spent 6 hours in 2 trains (if you're coming from Oslo)...no ride to worry about.
Generally, I recommend this pleasant hotel and if you can (wish to) afford a larger room, you'll have a lovely experience."
