We think the house is most comfortable with 12 people, but if you don't mind being cozy, it can sleep up to 18.
Sit on either level of the large decks with mountain views and soak in the incredible sights. There's nearly always deer, you can hear and see our little stream most of the year, and we've even seen a few black bears! Relax on the outdoor sofa by the fire pit and make s'mores, sit at the outdoor table to enjoy your morning coffee, or soak in our new, 6 person hot tub while you take in the unbeatable sunset. If the weather keeps you indoors, we have a gas fireplace in the main floor living room that makes the space incredibly cosy to curl up in and watch Netflix, read a book, or play a game.
For indoor entertainment, we have a ton of board games - if we're missing one you love let us know! We have Catan, codenames, monopoly, scrabble, chess, jenga, sorry, clue, and obviously a standard pack of playing cards. There are five TVs with Rokus (bring your own streaming account log ins!), two in the living areas and three in bedrooms, a Sonos speaker, reading areas with books for both adults and kids, and a foosball table.
You won't want for things to do when at home, however Snowshoe has so much to offer just outside your door. The skiing and snowboarding are famous for good reason, and other winter activities include night skiing and tubing at Silver Creek. There are incredible hiking trails on over 11,000 acres - see if you can find Narnia! Take a dip at Split Rock Pools, or Shaver's Lake is just at the bottom of Ballhooter lift and has a beach, regular and standing paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, and inflatables. There are playgrounds, disc golf, lovely hiking trails and a restaurant. The area is also famous for its mountain bike trails, with lessons for beginners. There are scenic lift rides, horseback riding, fishing, yoga, a bike park and off road 4 wheelers to rent. Raven golf club is just down the road for any avid golfers. Please note the pool in the listing refers to the communal pools at Split Rock, available with a Fun Pass or $15 per person/per day.
We aim for the kitchen to be as well stocked as possible with anything you might need. We have basic spices, olive oil, coffee and creamer, as well as a Keurig, coffee pot, toaster oven and normal toaster. There is a gas grill on the upper deck for your use as well, we just ask that you clean it afterwards. We kept Thanksgiving in mind when accounting for cookware, and we have one large and three small crock pots to make your life as easy as possible - spend the day on the mountain and come home to a hot dinner for the whole group. The kitchen area seats large groups - the table seats 10, there is a high top for two, the island has stools for four, and the upper deck has a little two person table that can come inside if needed as well.
Please note that Snowshoe is in a quiet zone, so cell service is not great anywhere on the mountain. To combat this, we've ensured we have the best wifi available on the mountain - a 100 mbps package. To avoid issues with checking in, it may be beneficial to download your map before you get on the mountain (though there is good signage), and make a note of the door code and wifi password. There is a ring doorbell camera, aimed at the driveway. There are no cameras inside the house.
We want the house to have everything you need so your stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. If there's anything you think would make the house more comfortable please let us know.

We enjoyed our stay!! Thanks so much. We do a lot of grilling/smoking/cooking and this place had it all! Even had a buck stop by to see if our wings were done on the smoker!
This was a great house for our family to enjoy our annual family ski trip!!The views are amazing, the kitchen was well stocked with basic spices and cleaning items and lots of dishes, pans, serving items.Also the shuttle service for the property was great!! Service right to the door!!Thank you for the lovely stay!!
Stayed at this property with a large group of friends for our annual ski trip. Plenty of room to accommodate large groups. Great location with beautiful views and the free shuttle service made getting into town very easy. Would definitely recommend for anybody looking to stay close to snowshoe village while still having plenty of privacy!
We had an amazing time. The views were incredible and house well accommodated. The kids biked all weekend while the adults cooked wonderful meals and enjoyed the hot tub and views. We plan to make this an annual event!
The house it self was high in the mountains and the view was beautiful. Some parts of the view was hidden due to trees near the house but everything else was very beautiful.
Big house with lots of sleeping options... Beds were comfy. Hot tub was refreshing after mountain biking all day. Great appliances, everything you need to cook and prepare food is available. Highly recommend this spot.
Great place for a group of friends or family. Oven went out the first night and the property manager had a new one installed the next day while we were skiing! Would definitely come back.

Views were amazing, beds were comfortable, enjoyed the fireplace. The house needs general maintenance and upkeep, huge puddle by the front door and in the parking area, did not have dish washing soap, lights were burnt out, coach and seating were, stained and uncomfortable. Kitchen chairs were very unsturdy. High dusting is a need as well. House was not ready at check in which was at 5, it was not delayed long but the smell of pineal when we entered was overwhelming, clearly cleaning had been rushed. Area below deck on the steep incline had ALOT of trash.
This house is amazing! Plenty of room, the first floor has windows and doors all along the west overlooking the beautiful mountain valley. It flows well for a large group. We had 15, ages from 2 to 70 and everyone was comfortable and had plenty of room to spread out. We were there during a winter blizzard with winds gusting over 70 mph and we were able to keep warm inside. The gas log fireplace helped with both heat and atmosphere. Due to the unusually cold weather the driveway was icy so I would recommend bringing some icy melt and four wheel drive vehicles during snowstorms. The shuttle to Snowshoe mountain would stop at the top of the driveway to pick us up and and drop us off. We really never had to drive our vehicles anywhere. You can also call 304-572-1000 and the shuttle will pick you up at selected stops whenever you need. We actually had them pick us up at the end of the road which stops at Shay's revenge. The wonderful, friendly service at Snowshoe really helped make our trip one to remember!
We had a great time at the cabin. It was a beautiful view and in a great area. There were some issues in the house that definitely need addressing. We made the homeowner aware of them. The one big surprise was that the dishwasher leaked but we understand a dishwasher could break down at anytime so we don't fault the owner for that.
The issues we ran into with the house we worked around, but it would would've been more comfortable and fun if they had been taken care of prior to our 3 day stay. The following were the issues we found:
* No curtains in the bathroom upstairs (had a BIG window)
* Upstairs window cranks did not work (difficult to close)
* Shower doors in 2 bathrooms did not fully close
* Outlet in basement had a hole in it (in kid's bunk room)
* Main level bedroom curtains were very thin
* No stopper for the kitchen sink (was important since dishwasher went on the fritz). Had to wash dishes in bowl
* Basement carpet had the smell of dog/deodorizer
*Sliding doors hard to lock
In terms of the great things about the house:
* Beds were very comfortable
* Plenty of blankets for the beds
* Plenty of towels
* Great views & Quiet area
* Near the ski slopes if you are interested in skiing
* Had foosball table which was fun to play
* Nice kitchen, plenty of places to sit
* Nice that the kitchen and living was in the same area
* Plenty of games to play
* Multiple televisions
We appreciated the owner in opening the house up for us to use. We had a great time.
The house was absolutely beautiful and fully stocked—by far the best host we’ve experienced. From the moment we arrived, everything was top-notch: skiing, relaxing, and taking in the views. We truly had an amazing experience and hope to stay here again one day.
We had a great stay, everything went as planned. House had everything we needed. Great communication with our host. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
House was very well appointed. We had a group of 9 and had no problems cooking for everybody. Plenty of sleeping spots as well. Will definitely be back!
