Don't get tripped up by Snowshoe's new parking fees. Parking at Chamonix Chalet is free! Use the free on-call van to get to your favorite spots on the mountain without having to pay for parking. The video footage is not shared, is for security purposes only and does not face the home. There are no indoor cameras. There are no cameras facing the hot tub area. \- This property is available for rent by family groups and couples. We do not host stag parties or groups comprised of just young adults under 30 without prior approval. If you are unsure if your group qualifies, please send us a message describing your groups composition. Other Details: \- On-Call Van. The on-call van service is GREAT! Just call them and they'll arrive in about 5-10 minutes at the end of the driveway and take you to various slopes or Snowshoe Village. Call them from your cell or ask any merchant to call the van for you to be taken back to Montreux. The Van runs from 8am-midnight weekdays and 8am to 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. \- Chamonix Chalet uses professional cleaning and maintenance services to ensure your stay is exceptional. All linens and towels are professionally sanitized after each guest departure. The hot tub is cleaned and serviced by a professional, trained technician after every stay. A local care-taker is available to address any maintenance issues that arise during your stay. \- Easy Access. Most homes at Snowshoe have steep driveways that can be a challenge even for four-wheel-drive vehicles. At Chamonix, the driveway has a modest slope that is maintained by a plowing service. Excellently stocked kitchen with enough stuff to accommodate all of our eating and cooking. The most perfect wood burning stove to keep the home warm and toasty but the serene atmosphere and stunning views captured the essence of the vacation. We brought a lot of food and supplies but the things we forgot were easy to get at local shops. Super close drive to the slopes so again if we did forget something we could just easily drive back to the house. Plus the mudroom made it easy to keep all the boarding stuff contained and out of the house. We loved that we could bring our dog and were provided detailed instructions regarding, check-in/out, and pet policy. However, there were a few items that kept me from giving 5-star rating. The entry way to home had 6" of ice which made entering/exiting home very dangerous. My wife had a broken wrist during our trip and was terrified to go outside. There was a container of snow melt at home but unfortunately it was completely empty. I will say they did a decent job of shoveling the driveway so at least we could park our vehicles safely. In addition, my wife found several mini bottles and garbage in areas of the home so cleaning could have been more thorough. Lastly, we had to purchase additional garbage bags, toilet paper and paper towels in the village as each bathroom had limited supplies considering our group was staying at property for 4 days. I guess we could have brought our own but for the price we were charged to rent home this was certainly disappointing. All in all, the home met our expectations and was delivered as advertised on website. The hot tub was clean and we all enjoyed relaxing on deck. We would consider returning to Chamonix again but will probably shop around to see if there are other properties in area that are less expensive. ##### Greg C. We had a wonderful time at this home. We went for GNCC weekend and to get some mountain biking in. The house was perfect for our group of friends. Plenty of space inside and out to enjoy our time. Everything worked great and the communication was great before the trip and during our stay. The shuttle to the village was super convenient as well. There was plenty of parking and it was nice that we were tucked back on a little side road/driveway so it wasn't busy. We would recommend and hope to stay again! ##### Amanda M. The house was large with a nicely stocked kitchen, spacious dens and decks on two levels and enough space for the seven of us to spread out. We enjoyed the fireplace (with lots of stacked wood), the hot tub, and the fire pit. The board games and puzzles were also great. Our son and GF brought their dog; we enjoyed long walks in the neighborhood. The host was terrific about explaining the expectations of taking care of the furniture while having the dog with us. We enjoyed watching the mountain bikers who were going down the slopes. We also hiked nearby and had a side trip to Cass. We also enjoyed a night out at the brewery in Snowshoe. The host communicated quickly and was helpful. We also appreciated the beautiful fall weather — thank you for arranging that! We are skiers/snowboarders and greatly enjoyed being able to walk to Cupp Run. Silver Creek was super close as well and had an awesome time night skiing. Only slight negatives are; - bathrooms and bottom floor could have been cleaned better - would have preferred a fire place on main floor, instead one has to choose between the bottom level room with fireplace vs. main family room with great views. - house was constantly pretty cold - should give users ability to change temp from 5pm to midnight at least.
