It looked like some painting but no work was done while we were there so it ended up being a really great deal. Our room was great. There were only two small complaints. The plug on one of the nightstands was not working and the bathroom set up does not allow for much movement when the door is open. Its very basic, but given the price in downtown Toronto, it was a good place to crash. Clean and tidy. If you know the neighbourhood, you hear the locals all night and there are some pretty colourful characters on the street. Room was small, so one person fine, two people.. probably cramped.
