(1,002 reviews) This hotel was well located in the city but a street or two back from the main area meaning it wasn’t too busy or loud. That said, it was still very easy to walk around the city and get to public transport options. The staff were friendly and helpful finding me things to do and translating different options for me. My room was pretty big compared to what I’ve had previously on my trip but was also comfortable and clean. The history of the house was also a main point for me. It was nice to walk around and look at original photos/paintings and see historic documents was pretty cool. (603 reviews) Unique hotel, but the staff need to be more customer service orientated. When we checked we were handed the key and no words came out of the mouth of the person who checked us in, we didn't know where to go to find our room. When I asked he pointed to a hall. We were also accosted by another worker when we were outside enjoying a drink in the garden area, she was very rude at first telling us we couldn't drink alcohol we brought, we had to buy it there. We didn't know there was a "rule" about it. Her attitude change when we apologized for not knowing and also let her know what a horrible experience we were having at their hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to foreigners.
