Sent a tuk tuk to pick us up from the bus station. Greeted us on arrival with some drinks and great conversation. Rooms are very nicely decorated. Beds are extremely comfortable, big flat screen tv with tons of internet channels, bathroom is large and bright, stocked fridge with tea/coffee maker and large wardrobe for your belongings. Delicious breakfast is made to order and the owner is a great cook. Netter Empfang und immer da, wenn man Fragen hat. Nicht gut fanden wir die Glastür, die die Toilette vom Zimmer abtrennt. Die Umgebung war bestimmt mal schön. Direkte Strandlage mit guten, aber etwas teurerem Restaurant vor der Tür. Ansonsten nur von Baustellen und Müll umgeben. Dieser Umbau ist aber leider in komplett Sihanoukville zu spüren, indem Chinesische Investoren Casinos aus dem Boden stampfen. We booked it for one night but stayed there 5 nights. Everything worked so well. Owners and stuff made us feel very welcomed. Our daughter got a stomachflu somewhere on the second night. the owners gave her a medicine and kept asking is she ok. Breakfast is really good and Red curry soup on the menu is really delicious. Hotel pool is good and the beach is right across the street. Beach towels are also included. Vi hade några trevliga kvällar tillsammans. Deras vänner gillar att hänga i baren och restaurangen, vilket ger en familjekänsla. Alla är välkomna i gänget och allt man ber om fixar Kerstin och Gerhardt. Frukosten lagades av en trevlig fransman från byn och det snålades inte med maten. Närmaste strand är nedsmutsad och vattnet inte så rent, vilket delvis beror på vindarnas riktning. Men går man över kullen till nästa vik finns en lååååång, fin sandstrand fylld med restauranger och barer. To be sure, there were some specific issues that may have been seasonal (bugs and construction) but the fact remains our room (and those of other guests) was horribly overrun with mosquitos. Otherwise we found the room pretty basic (no duvet) and with a hodgepodge assortment of amenities. The location of the hotel (a short, somewhat counter-intuitive walk to Otres Beach) is good, but it it feels a bit stuck in the middle between Ochedetchal (sp?) beach (which is really awful) and Otres (which is a backpacker/hostel joint). Loved it. Warm welcome on arrival by hosts Gerald and Kerstin set the scene for a wonderful stay of nine days in total. Stored our luggage while we went to the island of Ko Rong Sanloem. Spayhiti is located at the southern end of Occheuteal Beach and is a quiet hotel which is just how we like our holidays to be. The pool on-site is well maintained , we used it just about everyday. The garden area is nicely kept and provides privacy between the rooms with outdoor furniture for each room outside the bedroom. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water in the shower. Toiletries and all linen is provided including beach towels and mats. The aircon was excellent, a ceiling fan also in place if you didn't want the aircon. There was also a fridge, kettle, coffee and tea and two bottles of water everyday. The Television was wall mounted and there was a small table with two stools inside. Breakfast was included –eggs, bread, coffee, tea and a nice bowel of fruit. Night meals by arrangement – loved Gerald's fish dish with a home made black pepper sauce-superb, and Kerstin's attention to detail with hotel presentation was appreciated. WiFi excellent. This hotel has easy access to the beach (about 50 metres away) and backs onto the river at the rear where the dining area is located. Spayhiti was the best place for accommodation we stayed at whilst in Cambodia and would highly recommend it. Will definitely stay again. ##### Sharon Stayed 5 nights in Aug 2017 ### 6/10 Okay #### Charmaine, USA 5 Sept 2017 Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities #### Hotel next to river and beach We recently stayed at Spayhiti and were somewhat disappointed by our experience. The main contributing factors for this was the cleanliness of the hotel, the condition of the beach, and the breakfast meals. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff who offered us breakfast while we waited for our room to be ready. Once we entered the room, several hours later, the garbage had not been taken out from the previous guests and we believe the bedding had not been changed because we saw blood stains on the sheets. Also, our "premium bedding" were two small blankets. (The bed was quite comfortable which was nice). We were hopeful they would be changed in our next daily cleaning, but the trash was not taken out until the end of our 3 day stay and the bedding wasn't changed at all. The entrance of our room smelled strongly of pee, bugs were everywhere, and we saw lots of animal fecies in multiple areas outside of the guest house including the dining area. The beach, being right next to the river, had litter everywhere on the sand and the water. Now about the breakfasts provided - My husband and I both got severe food poisoning from eating breakfast and chose not to eat the next day. When we checked out, we were asked to pay for the meal we had when we first arrived (which we thought was included in our payments) even though we hadn't eaten for one of the days - we felt this to be very cheap of them. Each room comes with a comfortable outdoor seating area. Breakfast was substantial and tasty.
