The best area to stay in Shergarh for an authentic and convenient experience is typically within or very close to the Shergarh Wilderness Camp area, which is the primary hub for visitors.

This area is designed around the safari experience, providing direct access to the Shergarh Wildlife Sanctuary. Accommodation here usually consists of luxury tented camps or boutique lodges, offering a blend of comfort and proximity to nature. You'll find yourself amidst the natural landscape, with easy access to safari drives and local activities.

For couples seeking a romantic and exclusive getaway, staying in one of the luxury tented camps within this area is ideal. These camps often provide private verandahs, bespoke dining experiences under the stars, and opportunities for guided nature walks, allowing for a truly intimate connection with the surroundings.

Families will also find this area highly suitable. Many lodges offer family-friendly hotels and activities tailored for all ages, such as wildlife spotting, cultural evenings, and sometimes even cooking demonstrations.

The best time to go to Shergarh is during the cooler, drier months, specifically from October to March.

During these months, the weather is pleasant with warm, sunny days and cooler evenings, making it ideal for outdoor activities like wildlife safaris and exploring the local area. The monsoon season, from July to September, brings heavy rainfall, which can make travel difficult and impact wildlife viewing. Couples often find October to March superb for a romantic getaway. The comfortable weather allows for leisurely safaris, enjoying sundowners in the wilderness, and relaxing evenings under the stars without the extreme heat or rain.
