Winegard is named after the original owners of this 1922 Farmhouse that was created from a stick built home and a home that was moved and attached to create over 4,600 sq feet of finished living space.
Nestled in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley, our guests rave about the spaciousness of this perfect getaway. Public River access, Massanutten, and the National Park are all an easy 3 to 10-minute drive! JMU, Luray Caverns, wineries, Merck, Coors, and more are just 15 - 25 minutes away. National Park Week continues through 4/27/25! Don't miss the upcoming no-fee days: Juneteenth (6/19/25), Great American Outdoors Act Anniversary (8/4/25), National Public Lands Day (9/27/25), and Veterans Day (11/11/25).
Step onto the welcoming, wide, and deep front porch and into an ample center hall foyer. Our home comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests in seven bedrooms (no bunk beds, 9 total beds). You can visualize the house being divided into family friendly suites. The 1st floor bedroom and bathroom can be one 2-room suite. The 2nd floor rear has a 2 bedroom room en-suite with a private hallway. The rear stairs lead to a 3 option with a 2 bedrooms, a full bath, sun room. The remaining two bedrooms on the upper landing can share the full hall bath in the center hallway on the 2nd floor.
To the right of the foyer, discover the seamless flow of the open-concept living area, connecting the great room and a fully stocked kitchen, divided only by a charming white brick chimney. Prepare culinary delights with stainless steel appliances, elegant gold accents, a large island, and a waterfall leathered granite countertop. Enjoy your creations indoors at the counter heigh island with seating for 6, or step onto the adjacent "fenced-in" pet-friendly deck with seating for 14, offering breathtaking mountain sunrise and sunset views. Back in side, from the great room we have a room for the puzzle lovers, a full bathtub/shower bathroom and finally, a king bedroom face west and north. From this bedroom, you have easy access to the fenced-in backyard.
To your left enjoy playing board games or close the room darkening curtains to enjoy a movie with the entire family in the living room. Head into the renovated open concept Kitchen and Dining room with Bosch appliances and a Thor Electric Stove/Oven. The dinning table seats 8 to10 and the waterfall peninsula seats 4. A half bath and 1 of 2 laundry room completes the 1st floor indoor amenities. You can step out the side porch for 2 couples to enjoy coffee, day-trip planning or reflections of the day. Or, you can step out the back door and enjoy the sunsetting behind the mountains. Back inside, up the rear stairs case, you'll find a full bath and a king bedroom + sunroom. Four more steps up a curved staircase you'll find a large king bedroom that leads back to the center hall, above the foyer.
Downstairs, you'll find a king bedroom and a queen sofa bed. Upstairs on the lower landing is a two-bedroom en-suite featuring one queen bed with western mountain views and one king bed facing north, along with a hall bath with a roomy shower. Across the landing is a unique bedroom with a southern-facing sunroom and a separate full shower bathroom. Ascend four steps to the upper landing, where you'll find three more bedrooms: two with king beds and sitting areas, and one with two queen beds. All bedrooms boast 11-foot ceilings and beautifully refinished pine floors, each equipped with a Smart TV for your entertainment after a day of hiking, skiing, winery tours, college visits, or exploring the Shenandoah Valley.
For our digital nomads, we offer a dedicated office space with two monitors, a desk, and chair. The home also features four and a half modernized bathrooms, and parking is available for up to 8 vehicles, with a unique door code ensuring easy self-check-in. We are a small, local business dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences.
Adventure awaits with four inner tubes provided for a fun slide down the public access boat ramp into the winding South Fork of the Shenandoah River. Unwind as you watch the sunset behind the majestic Massanutten Mountain range from our Hot Tub Pavilion and Firepit, located in our fenced-in backyard.
We've taken care of the details for a stress-free stay, providing a dedicated coffee and tea bar, a 2nd coffee/tea station, quality soaps, shampoo, paper products, linens, and towels.
