We had reserved two rooms to be shared among five people for three nights, booked through Expedia, one for two people and another for three. The triple at Hotel METROPOLO was stated to have separate beds. When we checked in, we were informed that the triple room meant for three people only had one king-sized bed, which they expected all three guests to share. They offered an upgrade to a larger room with a sofa bed for an additional 160 RMB (approximately $22.33 USD) per night, and told us there were no rollaway beds available. We reluctantly agreed. However, we quickly discovered that the “sofa bed” was neither a bed nor a proper sofa—it was more of a small loveseat.
