Santa Cruz neighborhood is close to all the main attractions. Really good restaurants nearby. My only big complaints are that the bed was rock hard, sheets and towels have seen better days and you have to take your own garbage out. The place was clean, and the street we were on felt tucked away which was nice. However, you can still hear noises from the streets/alleys. When I purchased this room, I thought I had paid for breakfast option on the Expedia app which explains the higher price compared to what was on the app without breakfast, however when I got there, they said I had to pay 15euros per person for breakfast which I thought was a letdown. I also asked the front desk to help print a bus ticket and they charged us 2 euros for 4 print outs which I thought should have been complimentary. The at-home touches of art, furniture and fixtures drew you in and made you feel welcomed. The extra bathroom was a treat. The location was pretty central and easily walkable to all the attractions I wanted to visit. There was a range of gift shops and restaurants within a block or two and even small grocery stores 4 to 8 minutes away. Having a 24hour reception desk & restaurants across the street was helpful & convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, during my entire stay the Wi-Fi did not work, which was a pain. They offered access in the lobby, near the reception desk across the street, but in my building or apt was absolutely zero connection. I understand it was a provider issue but it was still very inconvenient, especially visiting as a foreigner. When other guests are moving in or out, it can get pretty noisy, but I think that's to be expected with tiled floors. It was quiet and peaceful otherwise. I specifically include “elevator” in my search criteria. I guess because these Apartamentos are affiliated with the Halo Hotel, they showed up in my search results. It was not the luxury experience I was hoping to book. Front desk staff was mostly helpful though sometimes grudgingly. I tried very hard to speak Spanish, but I am not fluent and some of them acted like I was speaking Martian rather than trying my best to speak my Duolingo Spanish. We also weren’t aware that we’d have to walk a short distance over cobblestone streets/alleys to get there because cars can’t access it. However, that part didn’t bother me, and I found being in the center of town very charming. We were able to walk lots of places: to restaurants and sites and a flamenco show. I would stay in that part of the city again, but NOT at the apartments. Knowing that, I thought it was pretty nice and comfortable. The communication was great and they told us where to take a taxi to get as close as possible to the apartment. I would say it was very close and I didn’t have to drag my luggage that far. I booked a large family apartment that had three rooms. I read that there would be no lift but it wasn’t that high up and the man who let us in was very kind and offered to help us move our bags up. The apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. Harder than most, but that’s what I prefer so it may not be to everyone’s tastes. Since it was an older house, there no insulation and I was COLD. I had heat at the top level but not in the lower ones so I’m not sure if it wasn’t available or I just didn’t know how to operate it. Hot water took some time but there are signs warning you about that in the bathroom. Amazing water pressure though. The location was great. Walked to all the major sights within minutes. We were there over a weekend and while it was noisy, it wasn’t unpleasant. Mostly it was a lot of singing which honestly…really fun. The apartment itself can do with a little maintenance but nothing so drastic that it bothered me. Nice view from the roof. It’s run by the staff at the halo hotel around the corner.
