This was the perfect stay in a neighbourhood worth exploring. The room was clean, comfy bed, silent and well filtered. I would definitely stay here again. The housekeeper was a lovely gentleman who was happy to assist. Great location close to everything without the chaos.
Great stay! Room is a little small if you have bigger luggage but overall comfortable. Right by the bus and subway so easy to get to other parts of Seoul. Can’t wait to come back.
The hotel location is good in the that it is central to most areas a tourist would want to visit and bad in that it is above a bar in the alleyway and even on the top floor you can constantly hear drunk people until 3am no matter the day of the week. This would be OK if you are wanting to party during your stay but I wouldn't recommend staying longer than 1 or 2 nights.
The bathroom is 1/3 of the total room and the rooms are tiny and not suited to anyone with larger suitcases.
We were staying longer than a week and had multiple issues the biggest being that the hot water stopped working 5 times. This was made worse by the fact that attempting to contact anyone at the hotel will get you nowhere.
Messages through Expedia never get looked at and texting or calling both the daytime manager and after hours assistance do not work. I even left notes attached to my door which were ignored. We were lucky enough to bump into him in person to explain in the end about the hot water.
Also as far as cleaning it was removal of rubbish and straightening the bed with one time the bathroom got cleaned the day before we left, the toilet got a dirt line along the waterline for 3 days so I could see it was not being cleaned.
No staff on property. We arrived very early, and since check lin is on a kiosk, no early checkin is available. There’s also no option to leave your bags if you want to walk around before check in time. No full size bath towels available on property. The room was dark and clean, and we were able to get great sleep each night.
We were hesitant at first to continue our booking with Hotel Sept or Guwol Hotel due to the negative reviews about it here, but after staying there, we were just glad that we kept the reservation. Note there was cancellation fee if we cancel.
We arrived past 10:00 pm. It was a self checkin in the main floor. We did not have the booking number but somebody on the intercom helped us.
The room was clean and we can say that it was newly renovated. We had a queen bed with enough room for the the 2 big luggages and 2 carry on bags we had. There was TV, very good AC, hair blower, towels, and 2 bottled water in the fridge. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. Everyday, they changed our towels, removed the trash, and replaced the bottled water.
There were some things that could have been better. The first one is having a staff on site. There was nobody on site. We never met the cleaners. Second, the communication via the Expedia app was non existent, with no response to our questions. We just received the templated welcome email and nothing else. No response to our questions. Third, it would have been nice to have extra pillows, as there were only 2.
Overall, even with the no communication, in the end our stay was pleasant. After we checked in, we really did not need anything from anybody. Checkout was via the computer as well.
If asked if we would stay again, we will. Specially considering how close it is to the train and bus.
There are also lockers on site.
