Nice stopover option between Stavanger & Oslo

A classic old hotel, great front desk service, we had a pleasant stay easy to find, easy tio park, nice room, good dinner and nice breakfast.

Had a great dinner. Minimal dr. staff taking care of guests but managing exceptionally well. Room was comfortable, great towels in bathroom. One comment. Dining room was mostly set up with tables for more than 2 people but most guests were couples maybe offer more tables/2

The Seljord hotel is a charming well maintained hotel in Telemark County, Norway. Breakfasts were excellent - full hot breakfast buffet. Dinners have pizza and a very small selection of typical Norwegian dishes. Note that the hotel elevator only goes to the 2nd floor - if you get a 3rd floor room you will be hefting luggage up and down one set of stairs. Bar service is available from 3PM and prices are very reasonable (for Norway). Our 2nd floor room had a spacious balcony. As most hotels in Norway, air conditioning is accomplished by opening the windows.

Kald middag, måtte vente litt for lenge før maten ble servert. Det var forskjell på str på glassene på bordet, slik at min kone fikk tilfeldigvis mindre glass enn meg, derav mindre vin som vl bestilte til maten. Men betalte samme pris selvfølgelig. Vi ble heller ikke informert om når middagen var tilgjengelig, dette var noe vi fant utav på egenhånd ved og sette oss til bordet uten å få service.

Selve rommet var greit rengjort, men: 1. Den ene nattlampen lyste ikke. Vi sa i fra og fikk ny pære som vi satte i. Lyste fremdeles ikke. 2. Det var tv på rommet, men ingen veiledning for å få den til å virke. 3. Det var vannkoker på rommet, men ingen kopper eller glass til å helle vannet oppi. 4. Det var heller ingen glass til å sette f. eks en tannkost i. Vi var selv innom kjøkkenet og hentet ut både kopper og glass, da resepsjonen var ubetjent på det tidspunktet. 5. Det var kun et lite såpestykke på badet, selv om vi var 2 personer på rommet, som bestilt. 6. Det var heis på hotellet, men denne ga fra seg lyder som virket skremmende. Frokosten var som en vanlig god hotellfrokost skal være, med ganske godt utvalg av både mat og drikke. Vi ankom hotellet, ca kl 1800. Resepsjonen var et relativt mørkt rom og betjening ble tilkalt ved hjelp å ei tilkallingsklokke. Vi spurte resepsjonisten om når det ble servert middag. Vi fikk da opplyst at vi kunne få middag kl 2030, forutsatt at vi bestilte ved innsjekking. Ellers ikke. På forespørsel om hva som sto på menyen, ble vi henvist til et annet sted i resepsjonen hvor det var et slags stativ hvor menyen kunne ses, men ikke så lett å lese. Det endte med at vi i stedet gikk til nærmeste bensinstasjon og spiste pølser, på et tidspunkt som passet for oss. Vi kommer ikke til å benytte dette hotellet ved senere anledninger.

Vi var avhengig av å bruke heis. Den buldret og durte så vi ble engstelig for at den skulle stanse. Bør repareres. Badet er trangt og bærer preg av at det er gammelt. F.eks så var dusjkabinettet i minste laget . Ca 70x70 Frokost: under middels Personalet: Hyggelige,men for få under middagen, da vi ble sittende å vente en god stund.
