Great hiking begins just minutes from the front door. In this tranquility, we see an abundance of local wildlife, including javalina, quail, and even the occasional bobcat. We are also just a few minutes away from the gourmet restaurants, spas, galleries, and bike rentals in the Village of Oak Creek. This Arts and Crafts inspired home has been our personal residence for 30 years. The home's exterior is Japanese/Southwest inspired, set in a lush oasis of mature landscaping and green lawns. The handcrafted interior is all about details, ranging from custom wood trim and inlays to local colored sand plastered walls. The ambiance of this home is one of warmth, beauty, serenity, and comfort. If you need more space for your group, there is a private 600 sq foot studio on the property with a separate entrances and patio that may be rented to a maximum of 2 guests. There are no shared walls and the studio is only connected by a detached lock out door. Nothing in the house or studio are shared. We are an approved Vacation Rental TPT#2136858. We made a fire in the fireplace and relaxed after a long journey. The kitchen is well stocked and clean as is the laundry room. Beds are super comfortable. The single full bath is jack and jill which made it a little awkward. We would have liked an outdoor space with a table to have meals. We found a great breakfast place down the street next to Clarks Grocery Store. I believe the name is Red Rock Cafe. The views to walk around the house were awesome. The house itself was as described. We did have neighbors on the other side, but we saw them only once in the 4 days we were there and that was while we were both heading out to hike that morning. The views of the red rock mountains from the home and neighborhood are great. The home is a very well maintained and equipped craftsman style home that met our needs perfectly. I would absolutely recommend this home for adults or families with older children. It’s in a neighborhood away from town and you experience a sense of peace immediately upon arrival. The owner was very responsive to my emails and seemed kind and friendly. If you have a large vehicle, I wouldn’t even attempt the driveway. This home is so quaint - like from a storybook - and has the best collection of books! Quiet neighborhood - exactly what we wanted to escape the triple digit Phoenix heat. (If you like noise and huge TV’s and video games - this isn’t the place for you.) The AC works well and the laundry room had extras of anything and everything...perfect little break to recharge and relax among the red rocks. Birds, bunnies and javelina roam this neighborhood. A short drive to town and restaurants and gift shops. It was too hot for hiking this week but next time we will explore the trails and walk around town more...5 stars for comfy beds and a quiet and restful stay - We will be back for sure! ##### Alison G. Conveniently located in the Village of Oak Creek , just minutes south of Sedona, this stylish home reflects the warmth and friendliness of the owners. The comfortable and artsy interior provides all the basic requirements of a home away from home. We especially enjoyed the abundance of reading material, the intriguing décor, and the sunroom, where a ponytail palm leans gently to the glass. Outside is a small secluded yard with stone pathways. The deck sitting just outside the sunroom was an excellent place to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine, gazing at the rock walls or brilliant stars. Mornings were filled with birdsong and the evenings with quiet or the soft rush of wind. The grill was clean and in excellent shape providing us several savory meals. After a day of adventure we always looked forward to returning to this quiet abode. Thank Bev and Doug for sharing and the ease and convenience of the rental experience. ##### Gary S. My wife and I enjoyed our week+ stay, we made it our home and it was comfortable and quiet. It is 10 minutes from town and cell phones only work on the Wi-Fi, that was a plus for us-PERFECT! The house is so wonderful, it takes you back to Old Arizona, Art Deco touches and thoughtful attention to comfort. Communication with the owner was easy and accommodating.
