I would say that this property needs a little tweaking. While the neighborhood was very nice and in a good location to the beach and the pool, the property itself needs some updating. When you first enter the unit, it is very dark. There is very little ceiling lighting and is mostly lit by lamps. The lamps are dull and make it difficult to play games, color with the kids, cook, etc. I think updating the lighting in the unit would make a huge difference. Next, the rugs in the unit were in desperate need of cleaning or replacing. There were several doggie doo doo stains, one that was very fresh. I did call the rental agency to let them know and they said they would have housekeeping take care of it, but nothing was ever done about it. There is little storage in the kitchen for groceries and no television in one of the two bedrooms. The listing noted that there was a grill available, but it was locked up during our stay. Finally there were cleaning products under the sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms that were not locked up. This is a potential safety hazard for anyone with young children. I would consider locking these up for future rentals. We having been coming to Kiawah and renting through the resort for over ten years. I would say this rental does not measure up to the premier units that we have stayed in. I will say the unit has potential but needs a little tlc. I really did enjoy the location and quiet neighborhood. It was really nice and safe for my young children to enjoy bike riding in.
