This home is located in a very special setting. Most vacation homes on the street are set far back from the river. This home is closer yet higher which allows perhaps the best views of any vacation home in Scottsburg. You can fish directly from our landing at the bottom of the stairs or access the river from the bottom of steps on low tide. Home has 3 very spacious bedrooms king size bed in master which is downstairs the 2nd bedroom upstairs has two queen and a futon and the third bedroom with river view has a king bed with a futon. Home has hardwood flooring in most areas with granite counters, large kitchen with all modern amenities. Home has Wi-Fi internet, DVD player with DVD movie library in living room. Home has soundproof game room with regulation ping pong table for additional entertainment. Home is handicap accessible with large covered side ramp allows you to enter side door of home and downstairs bathroom has handicap shower. The best views are in the dinning room, family room, game room and from 3rd bedroom upstairs which faces river. The upstairs of home has a retro 60s feel with all wood paneling with that original cabin feel. Property is very large. It has a large flat paved driveway with areas to park up to 8 cars or trucks and room on grassy area next to garage for trailer or boat or ? We do not have a dock however we have a wonderful set of stairs that take you right down to the river. Our section of the river is more shallow which is great for swimming and wading. The deep section of the river is on the other side of the river near highway 38.Two Kayaks available for you entire stay, It takes two people to carry them up or down the stairs to river . Our family rang in the New Year celebrating two birthdays here. There was also a proposal at the dock with the river in the background which made the setting perfect for the special moment. The views of the river every day were wonderful and we enjoyed exploring the area. We spent 1 morning in Elkton and the next morning we went to Loon Lake and hiked to the waterfall. Both places were about a 20 min drive. Our only complaint was we didn’t like the taste of the water from the tap so we had to go buy drinking water. Everyone in our party (7 people) really enjoyed the home! It was very cozy and comfortable. Plenty of room for people to spread out. I loved the different sitting areas where people could do their own thing, from reading and playing games, to TV watching, to eating and visiting, playing games (ping pong and bean bags). The view from the dining area was AMAZING, so peaceful and serene! The location was great for us, it was away from town (we like that) but only 17 miles from restaurants and things to do. A beautiful country home on the Umpqua River. It was very relaxing and the views were amazing. The property owner was very informative and told us about this wonderful area and gave us suggestions for restaurants sites to see etc. we were only a few miles from near by cities and ocean. Also there is an elk refuge nearby and we saw lots of elk and Canadian geese. We definitely would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Vince for letting us stay at your spectacular home. Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of extra blankets, pillow towels. We really needed for nothing while here. The only downside was that the water was pretty horrible tasting, and left a residue when washing dishes as well. We ended up going to the store to buy water and ice. Overall, the house is old, but it is well kept and a great place for a family getaway! ##### Tina B. Liked the fact that the kitchen was fully stocked with all the needs for creating meals... so many places have very few cooking pots/ cookie sheets/ etc! Nice large dining table with room for us to eat while also working on a jigsaw puzzle (our standard getaway activity.) We visited the nearby Elk sanctuary and were pleased to see the herd. If anything, even nicer than described. We celebrated my daughter's birthday with her family. The fishing for smallmouth bass was amazing. My son-in-law and I caught an estimated 70 fish in one day. My daughter and granddaughter enjoyed paddle boarding the river. We got to see otters frolicking and plenty of wildlife. The house couldn't have been more comfortable and ideal for our group.
