  • We live on 10 acres. We have pastures of horses and chickens. It is a peaceful and serene area that is very close to the city of Lafayette. We are 3 miles from I-10 and 8 miles to I-49. There are lots of great restaurants and areas to visit.

Very clean place! This country setting stay was amazing. From the beautiful little foal to the great hostess we really enjoyed our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!

The coop is great. It's quiet and clean, and the hosts were nice. It's hard to beat the combination of price and proximity to Lafayette and Scott.

Great experience!

The cleanliness of the Coop was second to none. We had everything we needed and the location was convenient to Lafayette where you could find lots of restaurant and shopping choices. We wanted to enjoy Mardi Gras festivities in the local areas of Eunice and Mamou without staying in town. This place was perfect. I felt right at home with all the chickens. Highly recommended!

Exactly as described

Enjoyed 2 nights there and we thought it was great. Very well appointed. Queen size bed was EXTREMELY firm but we both slept well on it. Loved the quiet and the beautiful farm and animals. Would definitely return and recommend. Great value.

little slice of heaven

The host was incredibly kind and so friendly. The place is everything and more; quiet, clean and truly filled with anything you might have forgotten or need for a stay of any length. The animals were all so friendly and funny, especially all the cats that came up to The Coop and immediately fell into my partner’s lap. We loved every moment of our stay and didn’t regret a single second. If you ever visit, definitely bring some apples to feed the horses (and donkey!).

Peaceful Coop

The little Coop just outside of Lafayette was exactly as pictured. The cabin was super clean and perfectly comfortable. The kitchen and bath were stocked with everything needed for a short stay and the location was convenient to Lafayette and the surrounding areas. We expected the roosters to wake us up early, but oddly enough, we didn't hear a peep out of them! The Coop is in a super quiet location with a beautiful view of horses in their pastures. Had the weather been anything but sweltering, we would have enjoyed sitting on the front porch and having a glass of wine in the evening. The owners were super nice people and easy to communicate with. Billy's Boudin, Davis Seafood and The Coffee Depot all a very short driving distance and all recommended! Overall.....much better than staying in a motel!

Weekend getaway

We came after the recent snow and ice storm and Mother Nature definitely had some other plans. Busted the water lines in south Louisiana. The owners reached out to us before check in and made us aware they were doing everything in their power to repair the water lines before we got there. The owners stated they would make it right and if they couldn’t, they would sponsor a stay at another location like hotel. By the time we checked in, the owners had the problem completely fixed allowing us to check in. The property has a code to lock / unlock the door. We checked in and were able to spend time with the horses, chickens, and were able spend quality time at the property and even had snowball fights with the left over snow. Weird thing to say in Louisiana. I know. The kitchen was stocked with bowls, plates, and silverware. Crazy thing is I had to use a bowl to help de ice our windshield in the morning . Plenty of towels for our stay. Owners are the nicest people you can meet and will go out of their way to help you

We had such a wonderful experience staying at the Coop! Waking up to the horses, cats, and Princess the donkey was truly special. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more memorable!! We will absolutely be coming back to stay here on our next visit!

My second time staying here. The hostesses treat me like family. They are so welcoming. Such a peaceful environment - including beautiful country views with horses. There were even 3 fouls that were just born. Such a blessing to watch the baby horses interacting with their moms. Bonus: The Best Stop Kitchen/grocery store is just down the street and sells amazing boudin biscuits!

Perfect stay for new years. Our family lives nearby and this spot offered a perfect place to relax. The cottage is perfectly clean. The space is comfortable enough for us and our teenage daughter. Kitchenette is well stocked for prepping a small meal. Owners are very kind and live on site. Beautiful farm setting with friendly animals.
