Schwarzenau is situated 120 miles (193 kilometers) north of Graz and about 65 miles (105 kilometers) northwest of Vienna, the capital of Austria.
It's a missed chance if you limit your sightseeing to the points of interest in Schwarzenau because the entire region is laced with an abundance of interesting cities, attractions and landscapes. Head 13 miles (21 kilometers) southwest to Raabs An Der Thaya, where you can enjoy the Schloss Raabs and Ruine Kollmitz.
When you are ready to head further afield beyond Schwarzenau, check out the nearest regional area. Durnstein is approximately 25 miles (40 kilometers) away and is home to visitor attractions such as Schloss Artstetten, Maria Taferl Wallfahrtskirche and Burg Aggstein. Durnstein has much of interest for visitors willing to linger. Burgruine, Stifskirche and Maria Langegg Wallfahrtskirche are just a sample of the other interesting attractions sure to delight.
