Take the Dalby Forest Drive to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Elegant Scarborough is 10 miles, the historic port of Whitby is 20 miles - both offer sandy beaches. If you want to escape from it all and be surrounded by nature this is an excellent location. If you want to be able to pop to the shops or have a meal out close by then it's not the place for you. The accommodation was very comfortable and relaxing. Despite comments about WiFi being limited we found it to be consistently available throughout the accommodation. The only thing lowering the equipment score was the kitchen appliances - they all worked OK but could do with updating to get a maximum score for those expecting 5-star quality. We had a lovely relaxing weekend, taking walks into the surrounding forest and enjoying the peace and quiet. It was wonderful to be so close together and have all the family holiday with adequate space in the most beautiful star-gazing location. The owner/caretaker of both properties are so helpful and accommodating. They couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was comfortable. What a stunning location - so peaceful and with uninterrupted views of the forest. We found the property to be extremely comfortable and had a really enjoyable stay touring the coastline, forest, moors and dales of North Yorkshire. The sitting room is very attractive and provided a cosy retreat in the evenings. The owners have done a wonderful job of restoring this room. Sainsbury’s delivered to the property so we were never without provisions - a bonus as it’s a distance to get to a shop. The owners are friendly and responsive and nothing was too much trouble.
