Iconic old hotel

Beautiful hotel in Lafayette California. Bed was comfortable and the hotel is very nice. Be careful where they assign your room. Our room overlooked the courtyard, windows are thin, the celebration of life event was in the courtyard during the day and did not cause any disruption. The wedding reception in the ball room next to the courtyard was loud with a terrible drummer that was grueling to hear for 2 hours 8p-10:00p. Ballroom walls thin. Staff made you feel guilty for complaining about the noise. Front desk staff offered to move us to the doldrums back of the hotel. Also, when checking in said you booked through Expedia, let’s see what we have available. Felt second rate and the noise verified it. For 300.00 per night, they could have done better.
