Small cozy cabin in the woods, close to Helen. We have a new hot tub, grill, internet, fireplace and 50 inch smart TV for your comfort. 20 mins from Cleveland, 10 minutes from Helen and 5 minutes from Unicoi State Park. Flexible with pets. One thing we love about the property is the peacefulness. It does get very quiet at night sometimes and this is very relaxing. We do also enjoy making the occasional trips to Helen for some of the great restaurants and things to do there such as tubing down the river. There is also occasional wildlife, this is the mountains. FYI the name of the cabin is Southern Oak Inn Other Things To Note The road leading to the cabin is a little rough. Gregg was an absolutely wonderful host. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was clean and felt great after a long day of walking Helen. Literally the only thing we had trouble with was the driveway. It is very narrow and needs som limbs clipped. It would probably be ok had we drove my mid size SUV but my husband struggled with his truck on the drive up to the cabin. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely be back. The shower curtain liner has mildew on it :( and all rugs needed to be vacuumed. There were a few areas that just did not smell clean and hinted at urine unfortunately. Silverware seemed to not be cleaned all the way either. Overall, a very doable stay but there were some cleaning my husband and I did upon arrival to feel more comfortable. Great price and great service.but if cleanliness is an upmost priority/concern, just keep this review as of now in mind. The hosts seemed very kind and friendly. ##### Jenaya T. October is a great time to visit with the beautiful Fall foliage & Oktoberfest celebration in Helen. The cabin sleeps 4, but I don’t recommend 2 couples because the beds don’t have full privacy & there’s 1 bathroom. Cabin could use a deep cleaning, rear-side outside lighting didn’t work, hottub was on a timer & we didn’t know how to bypass that, & the gas grill needs repairing or replacing. Also, there’s no cable or satellite tv, so you need your own streaming service or you can’t watch tv. So just expect a rustic mountain cabin - not the Ritz - & you will enjoy your stay ! ##### Mark T. The beds are terrible and so loud you wake yourself up every time you move while sleeping. I recommend putting hooks up on the walls by both beds so you can hang your bath towel to dry. The dish washer takes up so much room on the counter and the dishes are to big for it so you have to hand wash anyway. This is our second stay here and I made some of these suggestions last year in hopes that some of them would be made. The location is great and the owner is very nice and left us a cookie cake as a welcome back which was very thoughtful. ##### Tanya M. Lots of towels and well stocked kitchen. Only complaint was that the hot tub didn’t warm up in time to use it the first night. We used it the last 2 and it was wonderful. The kitchen cabinets are surprisingly well-stocked for a homey feeling.
