The staff are faultless and very welcoming. The hotel has a cool vibe. Perfectly located. Absolutely loved our relaxed breakfast. Would make a diversion to stay there again!

After a few snafus with our check-in and parking (reserve ahead of time; it's very limited), we had an excellent stay with nice rooms looking over the Saone River and delicious breakfast (more expensive than some but worth it).

Excellent hotel, really interesting history. Great local restaurants. Need to book parking as limited. Staff were excellent. Breakfast very good. Will stay again

Were not reponsable strong heat which created this cut and recovery time. Not great booking in experience.
On checking in we were disappointed firstly to be told free parking was half a mile away and secondly to be charged 16 euros for 1 overnight stay. Then went on to try and charge 34 euros for 2 continental breakfasts which we had to prove was included. Such a shame when the hotel behind the reception is fine.

Dear guest, Thank you for your reply, As indicated in our descriptions, the car park in the courtyard of the hotel is closed and secure, this service is in fact chargeable. However, you will find free places, just in front of the hotel, and along the street. We have a young apprentice at reception and a lot of different price codes, we are sorry if he misread this one, but please note that the intention was not to charge you twice. We are happy that this misunderstanding has been resolved immediately and apologize for it again. Best regards,

Different and Nice.
A nice change from chain hotels which are all very similar. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable room - and the bed was both superb and huge. No restaurant but very convenient for an eay five minute stroll into the town in the evening for dinner from a choice of quite a few very French brasseries and full blown restaurants. Parking directly outside the hotel was no problem - but maybe we just got lucky ! Wouldn't hesitate to go back next time we stay in Macon.

Best hotel in Macon!!
Room comfortable and clean. Wonderful shower! Breakfast was wonderful with a great selection of food hot and cold. Elise who was in charge of breakfast greeted us every morning with a cheery smile asking us if there was anything else we would like. She made our stay special, making me a delicious milky espresso every morning and we looked forward to our breakfast feast with fresh fruit, home made yoghurt and compote, an array of breads and cheeses! This hotel is a short walk across the road of two lane traffic to the Saone. Come out of the hotel and turn right and just keep walking and there are some good places to eat supper. The hotel entrance with lounge area was comfortable and welcoming and reception was very friendly. Just a thought that an extra central light would have improved the lighting in bedroom as it was a bit on the dark side - otherwise this hotel was faultless with great surroundings and wonderful staff. I would definitely book in to this hotel again if the opportunity arose.

When we drew up to the front of the hotel we were a little concerned as it looked tired, as did most other properties adjacent. However, inside the hotel was full of character, the staff were most welcoming, even the cleaner in the car park wished us a good day. The room and bathroom were clean, modern and the quiet air conditioning unit was really welcome in the extreme heat. A convenient short walk along the riverside took us to a range of eateries, essential as my wife has to use a stick and cannot walk to far. Overall, very pleased.

IIF EXPEDIA HAD NOT CANCLLED OUR ROOM WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PAY LESS. We had to pay more thank goodness they still had a room available or we would have been out on the street

Stop over to the Alps
Macon makes a great stop over location. We were driving to the Alps, so I wanted an easy overnight location to split the drive from the UK. We got to Macon in 6 hours.

Helpful staff, clean room, comfortable, good breakfast, excellent location. A really fine hotel. No restaurant for dinner, but just a short walk across the bridge to St Laurent where there's 4 good ones in a row. Unusually for a European mainland hotel, tea and coffee in the room. But. Cardboard cups! Condensed milk! How to make good tea utterly disgusting!
