"This is by far the best property I've ever booked through Expedia. The house sits on the edge of a beautiful working farm, across an ancient Roman bridge. A lovely ten-minute walk into town, you cross another bridge that offers a spectacular view the river. The owners live nearby and are the most hospitable and generous hosts imaginable, sharing fresh produce from their farm and knowledge of the area."

"This is a nice boutique hotel in the center city of Lamaga. The room was large, clean, nicely appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. We didn't avail ourselves of the spa tub in the room but it is certainly a nice feature. The rooftop pool is inviting and there is an adjacent bar/lounge area. The restaurant features a varied menu and the food was tasty and well prepared. The morning breakfast buffet was generous and nicely presented. The hotel does not have a parking garage but there was plenty of nearby street parking when we arrived in the afternoon. There may be fewer close spots by the evening."

"Great place. We had a spacious suite with a nice river view. Close to a river walk which takes you all the way to the 1st big lock on the Douro. Breakfast came in a box to your room every morning with fresh bread, pastries, cheese, ham, orange juice & coffee. Kitchen was also well equipped. We would definitely stay there again."

The upkeep is not really up to par, with mold in the bathroom, bathroom doors peeling severly due to water damage, stained towels etc. The breakfast is fine, but, again, not up to 4-star standards (including 5-star hotels in Portugal). The common spaces like the dining room show extensive damage due to use (and lack of maintenance?) and there's peeling paint in the hallways. However, the staff were exceedingly friendly and the price we paid in mid-May (around 150 € per night) was right for a 4-star place."
