Boasting what is quite possibly the best location on Schweitzer Mountain, this three-level townhome sits just above the village with fantastic, ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes. Enjoy spectacular views of the mountain, the valley, and Lake Pend Oreille down below, as well as a private hot tub and an in-home sauna to help you unwind from your adventures. This townhouse is located in a high-end neighborhood of newer homes just above Schweitzer Village, allowing you to ski or walk to the Basin Express Quad Lift each morning and ski home in the afternoons. Leave your gear hanging in the garage as you step inside, where you'll be welcomed by such conveniences as free WiFi and in-home laundry. The main living room features a pair of sofas that are warmed by a gas fireplace, a flatscreen TV, and amazing views of the surrounding mountain landscape. If you're not making the easy walk into the village at night, you can make yourself at home in the beautiful kitchen amid richly hued wood cabinetry, top-notch stainless steel appliances (including a gas range, a French-door refrigerator, and a wine fridge), and an island with bar seats for three. The sleek dining room table seats eight more, with the adjacent sliding doors leading outside to a balcony overlooking the gorgeous alpine scene. At night, you can retreat to the hot tub, the sauna, or the second living area - a great place to play a board game or watch movies on another flatscreen TV. When it's time to turn in, there are four bedrooms to choose from. These include two main bedroom suites - one on the upper level with views of the lake, and another on the lower level with enviable privacy and access to the hot tub. Things to Know There is active wildlife in this area, including bears. Do not leave any food in your vehicle or windows down. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Ski in/out was perfect. The house is the second to last house on a dead end road. The end of the road is where you can hop on a ski trail straight to the main lifts. There are a few amenities and details that could have made our stay even better. The cleanliness of the home was okay. When we arrived there was some garbage on the floor in the kitchen, and we also found a half-eaten muffin and empty bottle under the downstairs sofa. There were some basic things missing from the home that we would have expected to have. For example, there was only one wine glass, one nearly-empty box of Kleenex, no hair dryer, the wrong type of coffee filters for the coffee maker, only 12 hangers in the entire house. We also found it odd that 3 of the 4 bedrooms did not have any dressers or furniture for unpacking clothes. There was no place to hang towels in the master bathroom. It would also be great to have some information about the area, such as how to access the lifts and restaurants. I did call Vacasa on the first day and asked for a hair dryer and Kleenex. I was told that someone would be coming by ASAP to bring those items, but it never happened. And there was no follow-up. Overall, if these small details and items could be addressed, I think this would be a perfect place to stay! Thank you for a great week! ##### Courtney E. Pros: Very cute, comfy and spacious. Cons: The kitchen wasn’t very clean. The inside of the microwave was dirty and had an old cup of coffee in it, the face of the dishwasher was dirty and the kitchen wasn’t swept very well. (We did check in on Christmas Day so I’m sure the cleaning crew was in a hurry.) We also couldn’t find a good broom to clean up after ourselves. We couldn’t get the hot tub to stay warm enough to use the whole time. We don’t know if we bumped a button or if the heat element was failing. ##### Amanda G. You just can’t capture the warmth and homey feel of this beautiful home in pictures. The appliances are high end. The towels and linens are luxury quality. Everything was in perfect working order. The kitchen is fully equipped (set of dishes for 12). There’s even a small fridge downstairs next to the sauna and beach size towels for the hot tub. You can literally ski from the property to the ski lift. You can see Sandpoint and Lake Pend O’ Reille from the living room and master bedroom upstairs.
