Aurora Hotel at Reykjavik-Keflavik Airport Terminal KEF
8/10 Good
"The room was clean and a five minute walk to the airport terminal. We didn’t eat there so we can’t comment. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but the room and location served its purpose for one night. The tv was basic. No Netflix or other platforms are available for logging into your account."
"This location was convenient to the airport and appropriate for my one-night stay, which involved having to take virtual meetings from a quiet location with a reliable internet connection."
"This hotel is a gem. It is not far from the airport. It is about 40 miles to the cruise port. However, the lovely front desk agent can easily set up a cab for you. The hotel is well appointed, the staff is friendly and gracious and very helpful. Being a small hotel, we were pleasantly surprised how wonderful the restaurant is that is right in the hotel. The food is fresh, so well prepared an elegantly served. It is really worth taking the time to save her a dinner there breakfast was lovely as well. The grounds are walkable and it has lovely views. The room had everything you needed for your stay. I highly recommend if you’re passing through, stay here."
"The highlight was definitely the Library Restaurant, with excellent food, ambiance, and service! I live in the LA area and I'd be a regular, if this restaurant was in my area. I wish.
The hotel was attractive and the staff was helpful. There are plentiful sitting areas to read the paper, wait for your hotel guests, and wait for taxis. They made arranging a taxi to the airport very easy. The rooms were spacious and the location was right along the main street of town for an easy walk to the pubs, restaurants, and grocery store of Keflavik."
"Very cozy hotel, affordable and close to the airport. Outdated but pretty much all Iceland hotels are. Being a bit outdated though is what gave it a nice charm. Breakfast was good too."
"Impressive hotel at the top of the Reykjanes peninsula, only 15mins from the Keflavík airport, in a small village (Bardur). The ambiance is sort of ski lodge/ fisherman-esque, yet the rooms are up to international standards with everything you need, including a mini fridge, TV, desk, etc, and are very, very well maintained. The restaurant is quite good actually and the view from the windows is awesome (from a ocean coast point of view). From within a 45mins driving distance, you can visit quite a few sights from the peninsula. If you’re looking for a nice hotel near your Keflavík flight or to explore the peninsula, I think you can’t go wrong and will be pleased."
