Location of the AC in the bedroom bothered us since it was installed above the bed with fans pointing towards the bed and it was not possible to redirect the orientation of the fans. We had to run it before bedtime to air the room and then turn it off since it was too loud and cold but then room may get little stuffy. They charge $20 amenities fee which we never heard of in any of our stays in CA. This included breakfast which had tea, coffee and croissants and muffins which were not very fresh but edible. We rather have breakfast not included and not pay for it and choose what to eat ourselves rather than eating the same thing every morning. Staff was very nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Took the stairs to the 5th floor and down most of the time. Aside from that, its good place to stay for a night or two on a budget. Parking is secured in a gated lot next to the hotel for $32-40 per night. Walking distance to good eateries. Recommend food within walking distance: Cafe Buenos Aires on Polk st. for their variety of fresh empanadas and desserts, fruit fruit smoothies and hot mushroom drinks and matcha. Then to have the stews/soups and other chinese foods at Hai Ki Mi Gia on Ellis. Both eateries keep a very clean place and presentation of food, on top of the food tasting delicious."
