My husband and I stayed at Casa Amarillo in November as an early Christmas present for ourselves. Ambergris Caye is an amazing place to visit and our hosts where fabulous! The guest house is very comfortable and the pool was great for cooling off in. The place is absolutely amazing, great location, every amenity you need. First time staying in Belize, vacationed with three other couples and all eight of us loved the house, had more than enough room and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Close to great restaurants and not to far from town. Ester and Cesar were so helpful, accommodating and quick to respond. I would highly recommend this property for families or couples. ##### Lisa M. The house is clean and spacious. The pool and beach area provide the extra space you need to enjoy your stay. Marlena the housekeeper is a doll. Cooks great Belizean food and provides daily services we didn't receive on our last stay at a different VRBO property. The owners were wonderfully helpful prior to our stay. It’s a great space w a chill vibe. Ester is perfection she is quick to respond and she is like a magician and was able to get us into restaurants, on boats and riding in golf carts. Her efficient capabilities made the trip amazing. We loved the island. Great meals at Hungry grouper, blue water grill, and Maxie’s. We adored the Truck Stop and blue bayou!! Hire a boat to take you to secret beach, way better than driving. ##### Lynn H. We enjoyed our first trip enough to book a return several years later. Once again it met our expectations for a large group and we never felt in each others way. We loved it. The 3 bedrooms were spacious enough for us all. We loved the private pool! The dock was awesome. My brother fished off the dock and caught us dinner one night. We rented a golf cart and it was handy to go to the stores and restaurants. We went snorkeling and Suya tours picked us up off our dock! The snorkeling is fantastic! We saw nurse sharks, stingray, turtles and even an eel. The coral is beautiful. The location works great if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of San Pedro, it's about a 20 minute golf cart ride to the center of town. There are some good restuarant options nearby, don't miss the Drink & Drive, it's fun! We had limited cooking opportunities in the kitchens, as it was not as fully stocked of a kitchen to cook as we are used to. The appliances (dishwaser, stove, washer/dryer, coffee maker) are all a bit dated, but mostly operational once you know what to do. AC works great which is critical! Pool and dock were fantastic, our crew did lots of great fishing off the dock at all hours of the day. Thank you to Ester who was a fantastic concierge for all of our many questions and needs! ##### Anne F. All of the staff at Pelican (Ester in particular) were knowledgeable and exceedingly helpful. They arranged everything for us-flights to/from the island, golf cart rental, a private chef, and excursions-we just had to show up and enjoy our time. The property was beautiful, as advertised. We spent our afternoons in the private pool. Cesar, the groundskeeper, was attentive and even sprayed for mosquitoes for us when we asked. San Pedro was a fun town to explore, with lots of unique dining options. We did a private snorkel/fishing charter to Hol Chan and the guys took a second fishing charter that was beyond successful! We took our catch to Margie and Kenny's Hangout, where they turned it into a personal dinner for our family. Mariceli cooked 3 amazing meals for us-we'd highly recommend her! ##### Annie C. The communication leading up to the trip was well done and upon our arrival we were greeted by Rosa. Rosa was exceptional and managed to get our 2 families, golf carts and luggage safely to the home with ease. The highlight of the property is by far the dock and view. We spent time every day enjoying the exceptional view and hammocks at the end of the dock. Marfa was wonderful as well. She cooked delicious meals for us 3 nights. She also made us salsa and guacamole daily, upon our request. We did several outings with Incommunicada Tours. The beach barbecue was our favorite. We would absolutely recommend this property. It is in a great location, has an amazing view/dock, the pool is a huge bonus after a day of swimming in salt water and the staff is delightful. The outdoor space is amazing and we actually liked that it was in a quieter neighborhood and outside of town a bit. Ester was extremely helpful and very responsive. Grounds keeper visited daily and maintained outdoor space and pool. We were pleasantly surprised by how large and deep the pool is, not sure many houses have a private pool this size. Our teenage boys enjoyed fishing off the dock and caught some awesome fish - they even snorkeled a bit off the dock. Favorite restaurants were Blue Water Grill, Hidden Treasure, Coolbeans (breakfast), The Baker (breakfast) Elvi’s, Someplace South - honestly never had a bad meal! Loved the fruit and veggie stands and we found a few stands that had fresh salsa and guacamole-yum! Hol Chan and shark alley were awesome and a must do!
