The villa has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a spacious living room alongside a clean & modern kitchen and dining area for 4\. The unit is on the 3rd floor and the building has an elevator and stairs. At Villa Esmeralda, you will appreciate the combination of old-world colonial structural design and amenities such as air conditioning throughout the villa, wifi, TV, and modern yet simple decor. The location is ideal for those looking to be close to the action in Old San Juan, next to restaurants, a plaza and all that you need to see in this beautiful historic city. LIVING AREAS As you enter, you’ll be greeted by the modern kitchen which is a couple of steps away from the spacious living area. The living room is decorated with turquoise, emerald and lilac colors which makes the space feel sophisticated yet contemporary. Features a sofa, state of the art flat-screen TV, AC, dining table for 4, and a modern sleek kitchen. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Villa Esmeralda has two bedrooms that comfortably sleeps 4 adults. The 1st bedroom has a queen-size bed, its subtle blush and blue tones make the room feel zen. The spacious Master bedroom has a king bed, two side tables, air conditioning, access to a full bathroom, and a spacious closet. Both units are appointed with fresh linens for a good night's sleep! PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability. KITCHEN Villa Esmeralda has a comfortable kitchen, which was just recently renovated with new cabinets and countertops. The kitchen has a coffee maker, stovetop, microwave, and fridge. It features a beautiful traditional Spanish window for plenty of natural light. We include enough paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap for guests to comfortably start their stay. GETTING AROUND If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. \*\*This property does not include parking.\*\* IMPORTANT: If you need to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate. LOCATION Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From the property, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located on one of the quieter streets but still steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment. There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance: Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do. Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries. Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl. Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail. Other Things to Note: STARTER AMENITIES At West Indies Vacation Rentals, we strive to provide top-notch amenities, ensuring our guests feel at home during their stay. All properties come with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach towel per guest. We provide a set of disposable essentials to help you get your vacation started comfortably. These include: \- 1 set of hotel-size soap and shampoo (per bathroom) \- 3 garbage bags \- 1 roll of paper towels \- 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom) \- 1 dish soap \- 1 dish sponge Please note that we do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is the guest’s responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock any additional items needed for the duration of the stay. Most properties also include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler. You may reach out to us 5 days before arrival for confirmation. HOUSE RULES RENTAL AGREEMENT: All bookings require a signed Short-Term Rental Agreement, which will be sent upon confirmation of your reservation. Guests must upload a valid photo ID (no selfies) that matches the name on the credit card used for the booking. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking or prior to entering the property, whichever comes first. Check-in instructions will not be provided until the agreement is completed. NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. A $500 smoking fee will be charged if this rule is violated. NO PETS: While we are pet lovers, pets are not permitted at the property at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if this rule is violated, and guests may be asked to leave the property. QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be mindful of noise during these hours out of respect for nearby residents/neighbors. UTILITIES (WATER & ELECTRICITY): In the event of an interruption to water or electrical service, the host is not responsible for hotel, alternate lodging, or transportation expenses. If service is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests may cancel the reservation and request a refund for unused nights only. Nights already used are non-refundable. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum occupancy is 4 adults/children at all times, including visitors. OCCUPANCY ENFORCEMENT: Occupancy limits are strictly enforced. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation or removal from the property without refund. Both bedrooms were large and comfortable and remained cool throughout the day and night. Kitchen had basically everything you need and the living room is large as well. The AC wasn't working at first but the host was very responsive and sent someone to fix it right away. The beds are comfortable and you get everything you need. We stayed at this apartment in Old San Juan to attend a wedding. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. The location was so convenient to many shops and restaurants and well as historical sites. Another plus, it has an elevator and great air conditioning ! However, for location, security and check-in staff, this place is 5 and above. It's on the second floor, but there is an elevator. There are two secure doors just to get into the apartment, plus the lock on the apartment, so it's nice and secure. The A/C kept us comfortable...all good things.But it doesn't have a view of OSJ, a washer or drier, a dishwasher, or parking. If you can make do with that (we did) you'll love the location. ##### Michael D. Just one nit to pick—the AC doesn’t cover all areas evenly. It’s centrally located in OSJ, so we were within walking distance of the forts, museums, restaurants, shops, and bars. The villa was secure in a nice neighborhood—but then, we felt safe in OSJ our entire stay. The best part of our stay was the communication from the property manager. Agatha gave us all the info we needed in a timely manner. If we were to return to OSJ, we would certainly rent again.manner. ##### Kent H.
