The beaches are very close by, with bars and Restaurants. I will say to get to the place was a bit hard, you will need a truck or 4x4 vehicle. it was super easy to communicate with Marius, he was very helpful. The house was well equipped and the pool was private during our stay. The host was very attentive and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend a 4x4 to get to the property, even when it’s dry, as we had an SUV without 4x4 and the steep uphills to the property were incredibly challenging (but doable with speed) for us. The pool was not ready for us before hand so we only enjoyed it 2 days out of 2\. The keepers were excellent, very helpful. Having solar back up power was great the power went out once in the neighborhood and we were the only ones with power so that was pleasant. We booked his place the day before we were supposed to arrive in SJDS, and didn't take the measures necessary (given how bad the weather was that day) between the rental and the main town (San Juan del Sur), so we had to leave early. Marius was extremely gracious to refund us the last night we booked, we didn't even ask or expected him to do so. We would definitely recommend this rental and host to anyone that wants to stay near Maderas. Just make sure to have a 4x4 if you're going between May and Nov. ##### Naomi H.
