San Felipe is located approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Guanajuato and 200 miles (322 kilometers) northwest of the national capital, Mexico City.
While it can be a temptation to just kick back and relax when visiting San Felipe, don't forget, the surrounding region's many natural sights, cities and towns lie just beyond your doorstep. Ocampo, is 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the southeast, and Trancas can be found 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northwest.
